The good news is that Putin may not live to the end of the year.
The bad news is whoever replaces Putin will be just like him.
Putin knows his time on earth is running out.
In January, Putin will announce an early presidential election to be held on March 26 (1 year early) and has selected Nikolai Patrushev to be his replacement.
The oligarchs don’t support Patrushev. Neither does his alcoholic rival Dmitry Medvedev.
Putin will outlive Dementia Joe. Easy.
The bad news is he may decide we all need to go with him.
They will be worse. Putin is a moderate compared to the people who will take his place next.
The scary consideration is that he is a COmmunist regardless of his support of the Orthodox Church, he is himself an atheist and therefore may have no qualms about a final solution for the world if he perceives himself as losing in Ukraine.
“The bad news is whoever replaces Putin will be just like him”.
Wrong!
Putin is a pussy cat compared to those in line to replace him.
Very true. Like shooting Hitler in the middle of WW2.
Having Hitler in power was bad for Germany cuz of all the terrible meddling he did in military affairs. Kill him and you may get someone competent.
With Putin, we may get someone worse.
Do we at FR have any insight into the Soviet succession list? Who’s on deck?
