Ivana Trump, who died in her New York City home Thursday at the age of 73, was arguably one of the most famous divorcees in the world, thanks to her messy split in the early 1990s from a flashy real estate tycoon named Donald Trump.
A cameo in the 1996 divorce caper The First Wives Club demonstrated Ivana's status as a champion of women whose marriages have passed the expiration date.
"Don't get mad, get everything," Ivana, playing herself, proudly tells the film's main characters.

RIP...Ivana Trump...
I do remember the divorce story...No, I had no idea back then that Mr. Trump will eventually become President...
Should Melania and Marla attend the funeral for Ivana Trump? I am not sure if Marla should attend the funeral...
Cher attended Sonny Bono's funeral...
Maybe some of you have experience dealing with death of an ex-spouse...
Who cares? Then again, I never went for the tabloid crap.
“No, I had no idea back then that Mr. Trump will eventually become President...”
Pat Nixon predicted it in 1987, per a note from RMN to DJT at the time.
In any case, if someone had told me 30 years ago that Roe v. Wade would eventually be overturned, and that Donald Trump would be the president to make that happen, I would have asked that person what drugs they were on.
BTTT
My parents were divorced. When my dad passed his second wife tried to play the grieving grand dame. It was disgusting. My dad passed while talking on the phone with my mom….his first wife
Mom sat with all five children ( adults by then) at his funeral. He was the love of her life. She needed to be able to say good bye. We made sure she could.
The second wife was unhappy but we didn’t give two shakes Family first. My mom’s needs were more important
Cher owed her stage act and early fame to Sonny, who also wrote some of their biggest hit songs (The Beat Goes On, I Got You Babe, Baby Don’t Go, Bang! Bang! and others).
For the same reasons, if Motown’s CEO Berry Gordy dies before Diana Ross, I would expect her to have a front row seat at his service.
I doubt if Marla and Melania attend that service.
One never knows. Maybe Ivana had a friendship with Melania.
We won’t ever know unless Melania or another Trump tells us.
Why post this. Gossip sucks.
The second wife did not know how to behave properly...
I think Marla should not attend the funeral...It is fair to state that she had a big role in breaking up President Trump's first marriage...
I watched the funeral of Sonny Bono on my local station...Live...Cher did speak...She sounded very emotional...
I am sure there will be press coverage of Ivana Trump's funeral...There was press coverage of the funeral for Mr. Trump's brother...
Why is People Magazine dancing on her grave?
Daily mail has a photo that is a hoot. They are on a rooftop doing a glamorous pose atop a huge gold casket looking thing drinking champaign with mini American flags. Ivana dressed in a gold ballgown
Rather tacky to bring this up now. In poor taste for People Magazine. But I am not surprised.
“I had no idea back then that Mr. Trump will eventually become President...”
In 1990, I thought he should be President after I read “The Art Of The Deal”. Never dreamed it would happen, though.
“Mom sat with all five children ( adults by then) at his funeral.”
As it should be.
Yep
Doesn’t matter if someone is a fastfood worker or a billionaire..a divorce is a divorce..and deeply personal.. and really not aoutsider’s business.
So many wounds and scars before a divorce. Everyone has to do what is right for them, and look to the future. To continue to heal. Not easy.
I will never understand people who get divorced and say he/she was “the love of my life.” Why divorce then? Sounds like your parents should have stayed married unless there were critical extenuating circumstances.
Having been both a first and second wife, the 2nd wife often gets labeled as “gold digger” etc., by the first family’s adult child(ren).
I got divorced because of extreme physical abuse and alcoholism. And I have always been the provider... not the other way around.
Divorce should be made much harder to attain IMHO. It is almost always a bad idea. And of course marriage should not be entered into frivolously. JMO
I called into a radio show during the primaries, before he won. On air, I said the first candidate that declares he will stop all travel of Muslims into the USA will win. A few days later, he did exactly that. This was after three or four Islamic jihad inspired slaughters in the USA. I suspect he or his staff was listening. The radio host laughed at me, “never gonna happen”. Just a few days later, boom, he announced the ban.
All marriages go through difficult times. Some get fractured beyond repair. Too many things are said. The words scar and echo, for years. Healing becomes impossible inside the marriage. People can hurt each other, unintentionally. They have to separate to heal.
Because they are part of the propaganda arm of the Democrats. They ran this in another attempt to make DJT look bad. Why else?
