“Do you really believe someone other than Putin is driving this war to continue?”

Yes. Soros, Biden’s puppet master whoever, Deep State. Because if energy prices dropped, he would no longer be able to finance the war, and Ukraine could then just wear him down with no chance of resupply for Putin.

“He should cease hostility, pull his forces out and stop this nonsense.”

Yeah. And Jeffrey Dahmer should have stopped eating people, but didn’t until he was caught. He continues the war because he wants to and he can. We can’t control “wants to” but “can” is a cinch.

Take away his capacity by taking away his source of income, oil and natural gas.

But with the a@@holes trying to destroy the energy industry, the price stays high, he keeps selling at obscene profits, and that supports the war in Ukraine, and threatens to embolden China to take Taiwan, which they will do because they think they can, because they see that Russia is winning in Dumbass and that the West is ineffectual. After Dumbass, he’ll keep gunning for the rest of Ukraine and Eastern Europe, and the US and the West will be too busy fighting China in SE Asia. But you’ve got a solution: Walk up to Putin and say “cut that out!” and slap his wrist?

I would include China there. They have every gain for the US and Russia to escalate to nukes, taking both down, leaving China the worlds only superpower.

Taiwan would probably just surrender to china then.

If someone attacks the United States, I can’t wait to hear folks say we’re
warmongers because we won’t surrender.

It doesn’t matter if Putin thinks he can win. That doesn’t flip who started
the war and who is still the invading force on another nation’s territory.

A defending military effort is NEVER the aggressor force. It is NEVER the
focus of who is extending the war.

As for Taiwan, I’ve never been under the impression we were going to
try to prevent China from invading it.

Even Taiwan’s own officials talk of unifying at some point. Now those may be
rogue political figures, but I don’t hear a lot of pushback when they make
those comments.

That causes me to be less likely to support defending them.

Why should we get involved to prevent what they even see as a natural
progression over time?
