I’m not happy with any of it. But that’s likely what will happen in best case. Russia’s invasion was done stupidly and it back-fired. But holding onto Mariupol and Crimea, they can do, because their forces will be concentrated defensively on a small area, and good luck dislodging them.
I think they plan on holding on to the complete sea access on
the south. At least as it relates to the AZOV Gas Preserves,
that is.
Crimea is a pretty much done deal. I just address what the
outcome should be.
Russia has no right to invade a neighbor state and take what
it wants as if it’s manifest destiny.
Should be that Russia shouldn’t have the same President for 20 years. Should be that Eastern Europe shouldn’t be dominated by oligarchs and their pet politicians. Should have been that the Polish overlords hadn’t unjustly imprisoned Bogdan Chmelnicki 300 years ago. The world is a far cry from what it should be at all times. So here we are. Russia is FUBAR now, will be FUBAR after Putin goes the way of Stalin, and they have invaded Ukraine, and will get to keep a piece of it, and China will inevitably make a move on Taiwan, probably soon. Unless by some miracle Zelensky is about more than he’s shown us at present, which is impressive, but not enough to wrest back occupied Crimea, Mariupol and repel the encroachments on Dumbass. Hope in one hand...
Another one of the 1,000 reasons why I hate traveling. There’s the tourist world, which is cloyingly fake, and the real world, which is horrific.
I don’t have objections to most of that.
I judge us by where we are historically.
The world has become small enough, it’s just not feasible to
run things like we did 100-500 years ago.
The days of land grabs are over, or there is going to be
severe problems over it.
Antiaircraft missiles aren’t a threat to you unless you plan on bombing people where they are located.
