If you look at Eastern Ukraine, you cannot get around some basic facts.
The East sees itself as Russian, not Ukrainian.

They speak Russian, they vote for the pro Russian candidate (in every election, not just that one), they side with the Russian forces (not Ukraine) i.e. why the FSB could recruit these guys and why the Russians are “celebrated” in some towns they are taking in the Ukraine (but our MSM don't show that - doesn't fit our narrative)...
It is “us” that had to reach down into the dredges in order to find folks willing to fight (i.e. the infamous Azov unit). “We” are the ones that recruited Nazi tatted former criminals...

Not one or two... Not 10 or even 100. We literally went out and got folks that may as well have come from a federal prison, trained them with our SF for years, armed them with javelins, night vision, radios, bused them in from Western Ukraine... and then make claims like you are...
These would have to be "facts" before I'd have to get around them. For example, voting for Yanukovych doesn't mean "Pro-Russian invasion." Yanukovych campaigned on a Pro-EU platform. Same thing with the "Russian speaking" or 'Russian ethnicity' photograph you posted. Zelenskyy himself is a native Russian speaker from the East. Support in Eastern Ukraine for Russia plummeted after the invasion. And no, Azov Battalion, which represents less than 1% of the fighting force, is not defending the Eastern borders. They were, however, fighting to the death in Mariupol, right alongside Jewish and other minority defenders.
