20 kph is about 12½ mph.

But doesn't Britain use the metric system now?

Spent 2+ weeks driving around in Scotland last May. All the road signs including distances and speed are still in miles and MPH. This apparently is the case in all of the UK and that surprised me. I suspect the cost and effort of changing hundreds of thousands of signs wasn’t worth it. They must have had an official EU waiver pre-Brexit.

It's a little known fact but when the UK switched to the metric system, they kept some imperial measures in place.

Miles is one of them.

Pints is another - due to the fact that it just does not sound right to tell the bartender you would like a .473 liter of Guinness.
