[Excellent good news, however I think the person who titled this story got carried away. “destroyed THE ammunition depot of the Russian Armed Forces” I think more accurately should be “destroyed A MAJOR ammunition depot of the Russian Armed Forces.”]

Russians/Ukrainians have a problem with articles in the English language, so this may just be an inadvertent slip rather than an attempt to mislead or exaggerate.

IMHO, these ammo strikes will cramp their style. They could decentralize ammo dumps, but that will come at the cost of efficiency. Why do companies typically ship to as few ports as possible? Efficiency, which translates to dollars and cents, of which everyone has a finite amount. More ammo dumps with smaller amounts of ammo each come at a cost that translates to less money for other things.

Assuming both sides are similarly competent and have comparable weaponry, the side that has more resources will win. At the moment, it is looking like the Ukies are catching up, resource-wise, even if that seems to be happening at a snail’s pace.

Given the costs of dispersing their ammo dumps, I’d expect them to risk more of their air assets to destroy both HIMARS and other Western artillery systems. Maybe we’ll start seeing more Russian aircraft losses, manned or UAV, in the next few weeks, along with higher attrition numbers for Ukrainian artillery. It would be nice if additional anti-aircraft defenses started arriving from the West around this time.

I just found this article on the new use of these high power munitions. Apparently they have already knocked out 5 Russian arms depots. Unfortunately the article blocked my reading before I could learn more. Anyone know how to bypass the block?
