But every Hollywood movie says that nuclear winter/asteroid strike dust cloud will only last 2 years

Yessir!

I got 200 acres in rural Alabama. Fish in the ponds, fish in the creeks and rivers, deer, squirrel and wild turkey galore, plus all kinds of farm critters and plenty big garden.

And more so, I’m surrounded by hydroelectric plants from the 1930s TVA—might not even lose electricity.

Still, if I do, it will be real hot in the summer. Have to think up some new cooling techniques...

A Republican president would find there is not much choice. He’ll take longer but will still surrender.

The Russian cities are far more spread out and distances to food sources are shorter.

They win. We lose.

A spread of cobalt laced nukes will poison the Russian landscape to all forms of life for a couple of thousand years. Everybody loses.

Many decades ago when I was young and stupid a buddy and I would play golf on public courses in Dallas in the middle of summer in the middle of the day.

We would have the course to ourselves since it was so hot outside...

Our secret—we soaked a towel at each water cooler and wrapped it around ourselves.

So—if you have a creek nearby that would be my suggestion....

;-)

I don’t think those are in the inventory, and with no diesel you can’t transport anything to build them, and with no diesel you can’t transport food to feed the builders.

It’s all about oil. Always.

Can’t control the spread of the emp effect! A night side emp would be more wide spread, a day side emp would be more limited in spread due to the effects on solar wind on the magnetic field lines. Geo graphic features suct as high mountain ranges, salt water, or mixed plateaus also effect emp spread. Dozens of local high radio/TV and cell towers in given regions will dilute emp effects acting like lightning rods.

Also emp blasts on the scale of the Starship prime sub orbital blasts over America(which is not ocean salt water) might cause much damage but it will also cause damage to Canada, Mexico and much of Cental and South America and damage to Caribeean countries as well but it won’t hurt our subs or any of our fleets at sea. The whole western hemisphere, smarting with damage in many areas will be pissed and wanting payback! The damage won’t be confined just to the continental USA.(Cuba will be affected)

Still much infrastructure will survive, enough to allow an obliterative resonse to any rogue nation that tries it!

A brand new study that was just released has concluded that average global temperatures would immediately drop by a whopping 13 degrees following a full-blown nuclear exchange

So wouldn't that be a good thing? I mean the entire agenda of the left is focused on global warming/climate change.

A lot would depend on if only 4 to 6 population centers were targeted in Russia and US, or if massive strikes took place everywhere. I would like to know what level of bombing was calculated for the 13 degree temperature drop. With such a severe temperature drop much of Russia and Canada might become unsurvivably cold. The levels of food consumption to survive severe cold are far higher than those needed for “normal” living, typically set at 2,000 calories.

I just read about the failure of the Scott expedition in 1912 to return from the South Pole. It was calculated the 4 men would need 4,500 calories a day. In fact the need was at least 7,000 calories a day and they added one more person at the last minute. They literally starved and failed to make the last 11 miles to a food cache on the way back.

We cannot forget that large numbers of people would be sick and dying from radiation. Again the severity depending on how widespread was the bombing. Early survival would depend on being able to stay underground with a food and water supply for a while, while protecting resources. Fifty years ago my father’s brother was proudly showing off his brand new bomb shelter in Pennsylvania. My husband asked, “Let me see your weapons?” He fought in Korea. My uncle responded, “We don’t have any.” My husband then said, “Well how the heck do you expect to keep your food?” Dumb looks from that family.

My own survival strategy includes already having a 3 month supply of food, 2 firearms and ammunition. and a place in West Virginia with only a few neighbors. The vacant property next door has a root cellar dug into a hillside. Instant fall out shelter, enlarge it for winter living. In autumn gather many white oak acorns. I’m planting Ginco trees, from seeds at city property. They are edible. Plan to plant more nut trees and persimmons if we don’t go intercontinental nuclear over Ukraine. I would bring my extensive vitamin and mineral collection and trade medical knowledge and supplements for food. Tactical nuclear is the more likely nuclear option, if any?

Since Revelation was probably written 100 or more years after Jesus’ death, the Roman Empire was already a “thing” and had been for a while. In fact, theologians generally agree that Revelation was definitely supposed to be about the Roman Empire and its corruption.

“resulting in crop failure around the world”

CONSIDER

Crop failure occurring now in U.S. due to drought. Cattle trailers lined up last Saturday going to auction because inability to feed the animals.

EXAMPLE CA, “Before our magnificent reservoir projects were built, California never had a steady and reliable supply of water. Now water is being managed as if those reserves don’t exist, by EMPTYING THE COLLECTED WATER FROM STORAGE TO THE SEA, rather than SAVING it for our routinely dry years,” Diener says.
“Our water projects were designed to be managed for the long term providing a minimum five year supply, but California has now put us on track to have a man made drought crisis every time we don’t have a wet season.”

Farmers in U.S. being put out of business because American consumers will not go to Publix & other big box stores to DEMAND American produce, often cheaper & higher quality. Publix BRAGS about offering global produce.

Cattle Russian military purposely dropping incendiary bombs on wheat fields in Ukraine...

PLEASE let’s not forget, China & Gates buying U.S. farmland.

NOPE, no offense meant. But, theologians NEVER agree, especially on the Book of Revelation.

“Russia has spent decades digging underground survival”

Yep, Putin has his underground palace in Ural Mountains. Don’t think he will invite the Russian population to join him.

Over 50 years ago I read an evaluation of the future of Russia. It said many of the things you said here, and stated that Russia at best was a B- power. Hopefully Putin does not want to condemn his nation to such an end, and will refrain from national suicide.

On the other hand, if it is not also destroyed by a nuclear exchange, China will probably be so busy moving into Russian land, that they will ignore the US for a while, giving us time to recover.

Russia has been cursed by its leadership or lack thereof. Lenin wanted Trotsky, but Stalin tricked him and was the more viscious ruler. Yeltsen has recently been quoted as saying he did not want Putin, and tyranny marches on, US is made of people who left home because they wanted something better and wanted to do it themselves. Certainly that is why so many are crossing our southern border. Only the Africans did not want to come here. It will be interesting to see how our future works out. Hope I live long enough.

Russia has been cursed by its leadership, including the “orthodox” church. But is fundamentally cursed by geography. It has always been, and will be until the return of Christ, a backwards shit hole. I say that with all due respect to the good people of Russia that endure it (and arenthe betters of many ingrate American fools...myself included.

China is decades ahead of Russia in ethic suicide. They won’t be invading jack.

We need to lock down the soul of our homefront and be worthy of the providence we’ve been unfairly given

I’m mad at Russia for wasting their wealth, then being so greedy they want to supply all the gas and oil to Europe. Therefore they have seized Crimea surrounded by gas deposits and fomented separatism in Donbass so they can also seize the gas, oil, and coal resources there as well as all the industrial capacity already built. In addition they have willfully destroyed as much as possible of cities and towns that they don’t need to steal all the underground mineral resources. This is about resources not ethnicities except to a minor fixable degree.

I watched the last link through all the descriptions of the various sectors of Russian economic life that are downgrading. In US we are complaining about 8% inflation. It sounds like Russia has at least 40% inflation if you add the degrading of product quality and the increase of costs, food, clothing, etc. Also the fact that they can no longer import most kinds of cars or western medicines. Now they import Indian generics which often don’t work as well as western medicines, or Chinese autos, their own lousy cars, or pay double for South Korean vehicles. Western vehicles when they can get them cost 3 times as much.

I think you are seriously wrong about how much oil we import relative to amounts we export. I don’t think it is much more than around 10%.

Back when, all tactical nuclear strikes lead to full strategic strikes eventually

My original comment was based on a continent-wide firestorm which was the 1970 Soviet plan of attack. Some challenged that wanting links which obviously do not exist.

Others claimed its impossible to make a firestorm where there are no buildings, forests an so on. I think they do not realize how a gigantic firestorm would work when burning at thousands of degrees across a broad area where oxygen becomes the primary fuel.

If any of that would happen, having supplies would do no good. You and they would be consumed above ground and asphyxiated below ground.

East of the Mississippi would be the very worst place to shelter, as it would be sure to be the hardest hit. All those WVA trees are fuel.
