Because of Obama/Biden’s overthrow of Ukrainian Democracy, There would still be a civil war in Ukraine until the 3 seceding Republics are Destroyed, submit, or gain complete independence. The 3rd is less likely. Which Then puts NATO on the border, 100 miles from Russia’s southern oil fields, resulting in one of the largest Militarized Frontiers in the world.

Russia views the Obama/Biden overthrow of Ukraine and subsequent NATO involvement as an existential threat to their country. Putin’s 80% approval rating means the people are with him and they’ve clearly noted, they’re preparing for the worst!

Are we going to Nuclear War for Obama? Biden? For overthrowing democracy? This entire situation is insane!?!

If There Is A Nuclear War Between The U.S. And Russia, Most of the world Will Die By Starving To Death due to worldwide nuclear winter

You completely miss the point, not that I owe you anything. Nuclear war is what we clearly want to avoid. Which is why Obama/Biden overthrowing Ukraine was a not a good thing in their Color Revolution. It has caused a civil war in Ukraine and now the Russians are involved because it affects their border.

I'm not missing the point here. You are. Russia's war has nothing to do with NATO or the Ukraine border or homosexuals, or Orthodox Jesus or who is or is not president of the US. Russia is a flat country with open ground that has no natural defenses. They intend to expand out until they get to geographically defensible points. Two of those happen to be on the western side of Ukraine.

The Russians are no longer atheistic communists. They are an Orthodox Christians

Their deities are irrelevant. Peter the Great and Catherine the Great where christians and they ran the same playbook and the Soviets back in the day and Putin now. Russians are Russians. Their religion does not change their security policy, Putin plans to push through all of Ukraine, part of Poland and all of the Baltics. Putin wants to reassemble the geography of the old USSR and he is using nuclear blackmail to do it,

No way. Totally disagree. Why wouldn’t they have done what you say after taking back South Ossetia? Russians are not stupid.

“Nuclear winter” is a KBG hoax completely debunked a very long time ago. Stopped reading there.

C Kearney (Nuclear War Survival Skills - Oak Ridge NAtional Lab) says in the referenced work, you’d have to be extremely unlucky to not survive a full-scale exchange.

And yes, the mass causality numbers are closer to 95% - from starvation and disease.

No one survives a continent-wide fire storm - those that are not incinerated will die as all the oxygen is consumed in the days to weeks-long fire storm.

Ridiculous.

I spent 22 years in the US Air Force doing Nuclear Defense. There is not going to be a continent-wide fire. Not even when both we and the Soviets had twice as many nuclear weapons as now.

Please provide a reputable source for such a claim!

So how many warheads will that take?

The Russians have about 9,000 nuke warheads. In addition, they have hyperbaric warheads that are nearly as devastating as a nuke without the radiation. They claim hypersonic delivery vehicles that can have the initial bursts occurring 90 to 200 seconds from launch. They also claim to have deployed 3 nuclear powered drones with onboard 300 MT weapons. One each stationed next to US east, US west and US gulf coasts. The whole lot gets deployed nearly simultaneously. The estimate is 259 million dead from the "prompt" effects. Additional deaths from plumes and lack of resources follow.

They HAVE the oil. The US imports almost 1/2 the oil it uses and refines it at the arrival point (gulf coast). The Russians are much much more spread out. They EXPORT half the oil they pump. They don’t consume anywhere near what the US does.

It’s an enormous advantage. The article is about nuclear winter and that’s inconsequential. The correct thinking is about food transport.

We lose. They win.

So, if Russia tries to take all of Ukraine will that change your mind?

Wishful thinking.

How do you think they transport that food and fuel.....being all spread out and such.

Sorry that was long before there was such a thing as the internet. I know, if there is no link going back to events 60 years ago, the past never happened. Here are no links to what was going on in Rome 2,000 years ago. So that never happened either.

So just forget it.

Ans: one.

With the current state of affairs, the markets - and currency would collapse before we even figured out who did it.

If rural America is wise, the only chance of survival would be cutting off egress from the cities. But America as a nation would cease to exist.

In a real all out nuclear war there will be survivors for sure—but there will be no “winners” by any reasonable definition of the term.

There probably will be no functional governments of any kind in Russia or the US.

Both would probably be reduced to local warlords.

Best places to live would be where the population is remote. Perhaps Alaska where you can get by fishing year round. Everyone else will be dead. Even if you are still alive in a populated area, you would fight to death over dwindling resources.

I don’t see your point. The US has fewer nuclear warheads and far more targets to divide them amongst.

The Russians need only hit refineries processing imported oil. Because of the distributed realities of the post nuclear attack Russian landscape, they can make do with the Syrian style mobile refineries because in each locale they need less and have the crude local.

Can’t you see what a crushing disadvantage it is to consume 21 million bpd and produce 12? Versus consume about 3 million bpd and produce 11.

It’s about oil. Oil is everything. Pretending otherwise is celebrating explosions of concrete that do not compel politicians to surrender.

Prepper Ping - The Survivalist in a "Post Nuclear War" scenario
The answer to the prospect of nuclear war ?
Prepper Survival Rule of Three :
Three minutes without air
Three days without water
Three weeks without food

"Can you imagine what it would be like to literally starve to death?
Most Americans believe that if a nuclear war with Russia actually happens the vast majority of the U.S. population will be instantly wiped out.
But that is not what the science says.
What the studies have shown is that only about 20 percent of the U.S. population will be instantly killed during a nuclear exchange.
If you live near a military base or some other highly strategic target you will probably be among that 20 percent.
Otherwise, it is likely that you will starve to death during the horrifying “nuclear winter” that follows."

"A brand new study that was just released has concluded that average global temperatures would immediately drop by a whopping 13 degrees following a full-blown nuclear exchange…"
