"Suicide in its purest form": in Belarus, security forces opposed the war with Ukraine, Lukashenko is preparing for a riot

The unrecognized President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko may be preparing for a revolt by his military after they expressed disagreement with Russia's war against Ukraine. Local commandos called his decision on the possible dispatch of troops "suicide in its purest form."

Senior officers of the fifth brigade of the Special Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus expressed this opinion in an open letter to the Belarusian leader, who is a close associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This is reported by Newsweek.

"By entering the war against Ukraine, Belarus will be expelled from the community of civilized states and will become an international outcast for many years," the military wrote.

As you know, the authorities of the republic allowed Russia to deploy its troops and conduct large-scale military exercises in the country from the very beginning of the war at the end of February. And in May, Belarus has already started large-scale exercises of its armed forces to test the combat readiness of the army.

However, some Belarusian servicemen condemned the war and in a letter to Lukashenka stated that Russia's occupation of the internationally recognized territory of Ukraine, which is a friend of their state, as well as its attempt to drag the country into a completely unprovoked war "can only be considered as the destruction of the sovereignty of Belarus itself."

"Now the officers of the fifth special purpose brigade state a gross violation by the highest political leadership of Russia of paragraph one of the Constitution of Belarus. According to it, the republic retains supremacy and full authority over its own territory. She also enjoys independence in domestic and foreign policy," the military reminded Lukashenko.

Ordinary residents of Belarus also do not support the war against Ukraine. According to the survey, the majority of the country's citizens oppose the participation of their army in hostilities on the side of the Russian Federation – more than 85%. While 8.2% of respondents supported the entry of the republic into the war.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, earlier the self-proclaimed leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said that he would continue to support the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine, since they are a union state and have a single army. He justified the aggression of the Russian Federation towards a neighboring country by putting up a barrier against "bullying Russians and a Russian person."

Ukraine is busy defending itself from Putin’s attack.

NATO isn’t planning any attack but your Russian military might be. However it is losing too many men and materiel in Ukraine.

Belarus didn’t even have any cover for its rigged election. Lukashenko is a Soviet dictator.
