The sharks don't sunbathe on the sand but their favorite prey, gray seals, do and when seals venture back into the waves they become a target.As do the hairless beach apes(ref."Sherman' Lagoon").

There is speculation that dawn and dusk might be worse times for a person to be in the water, but it's hard to say. My observation is most shark attacks on people do not occur at dawn or dusk.
Maybe that is because more people are in the water at other times? - Tom
