While fears may be growing that another COVID-19 surge will be upon us in the coming months, there is some indication that the future is now.
There’s a reason data show that, while the positivity rate of COVID tests has spiked to five-month highs, and hospitalizations have steadily climbed to four-month highs, new daily COVID cases have held steady for the past couple of months.
The new cases are being undercounted because results of widely available at-home tests aren’t being reported for government tabulation. The Fourth of July holiday has also caused reporting delays. And many states have stopped providing daily updates, as the New York Times reported.
“There’s no question in my mind that we’re missing a vast majority of infections right now,” White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Ashish Jha said on NBC’s “Nightly News with Lester Holt” on Thursday. “The truth is, there are probably several hundred thousand, four or five hundred thousand, infections today happening across the country...”

I’ve been worried about, and looking for, ADE with second infections or “breakthroughs” since the Fall of 2020, really not seeing it.
I’m equally concerned about mRNA vaccines driving the variants, which is realistic (but not yet proven) - but I think ADE like with dengue just hasn’t shown up.
Ain't that the truth? And fake sticks out like a sore thumb even when liars rule

That's not fake and was published more than two years ago with no rebuttal yet.
And if a GOP admin had the WH then the headlines would be those of blaming them for the failure of vaccination and control.
It will be interesting to continue watching. If we do not have a worse outbreak this fall/winter, you may be correct about ADE.
I know a few people who tested positive in the past few months, both vaxed and unvaxed. None reported it to anyone. They were barely sick. Some are still working from home, some called in sick for a couple days. Some are retired, some in school. Nobody wants to be put on list.
Hospitalizations have crept up marginally, while case numbers were flat, and test positivity rates rose (now 17.5%, which is high). So it seems that there are probably a bit more undetected/ unreported cases circulating.
But death rates remain low and pretty flat - so not a big deal.
Perhaps there is a marginal bit more going around, and blanket testing during hospital admissions is just more efficient at detecting and reporting, than the at home tests are. More of a statistical anomaly, than it is a significant public health issue.

I’ve dealt with double dengue shock syndrome, if we were going to see THAT we would know by now.
I went to the doctor two weeks ago. Everyone in my family had respiratory issues. They did COVID tests and all came back negative. The doctor asked if we have been vaxxed and we said none of us have.
She said they are seeing a LOT of COVID cases, and every single one is vaccinated.
Thanks…i did not know that and i try to avoid YT
Nosocomial spread could also be at work.
Hospitals fired refused refuseniks and are now staffed with vaxxed and boosted superspreaders.
Isn’t it interesting that have been no stories in the enemedia relating to nosocomial spread of the coof in hospitals and residentialcare settings, no curiosity...
Time for ALL of us to W-A-K-E U-P and think about all this COVID sh*t deeply!

I am immune, but I got my immunity the old-fashioned way.
