SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Tiffany Campbell never thought she would have an abortion.
“I was a staunch Republican, I would not even vote for a Democrat, straight party ticket,” Tiffany said. “But I also never thought I would need an abortion.”
In 2006, Tiffany and her then-husband Chris found out they were pregnant with their third child. Like her first two pregnancies, Tiffany was experiencing severe dehydration and vomiting and regularly went to the doctor for fluids and other treatments.
On one particular visit, Tiffany was informed she had a kidney infection and would need a stent and have to spend the night at the hospital. Before the procedure, a nurse performed an ultrasound and Tiffany found out she was pregnant with twins.
Her excitement was short-lived.
“And then the ultrasound tech got very quiet, went to the phone, and was whispering. I knew something was wrong,” Tiffany said.
That’s when a team of doctors at Sioux Valley Hospital, now known as Sanford Health, diagnosed her twins with Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). The Cincinnati Children’s Hospital says that this rare condition happens when identical twins share a placenta and the “abnormal blood vessel connections” cause an uneven blood flow between the fetuses.
Dr. Peter Van Eerden was an OB/GYN with Sioux Valley at the time and told KELOLAND News that TTTS can develop as early as 16 weeks and has a mortality rate up to 80%.
“Even 100% if left untreated for both babies,” Van Eerden said.
Without treatment, doctors in Sioux Falls told Tiffany that her pregnancy would end with the death of at least one of her twin boys, if not both.

I’m curious, was that treatment available in 2006?🤔
So,it may have been available but still experimental at the time and maybe her doctors didn’t know of it.🤔
Ahh.🙄
If you want to believe that you may, I find the medical decision making described inconceivable in 2000 let alone 2016. Based on the lie about 3 days of testing this story stink like a 3 day fish. The author’s other actions and prior reporting contribute to a fact check fail just like the 10 year old rape victim that needed to be transported across state lines for an abortion.
I think before that was done they would have used the same technology to diminish the abnormal supply not directly terminate. First case of radio frequency abortion is from 2009 well after selective vessel elimination was popularized in 2005-8, with hundreds of these rare cases treated during those years. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2698202/
Fetal radio frequency intervention is only done at University centers by referral, only about 40 centers in USA have the technology at this time, less when this incident occurred. The suggestion by another poster that the author’s docs did not know about the potentially twin saving procedure is not possible on the facts. The more we learn about the author and the details furnished the more this appears to be a curated and manipulated tale told for a purpose.
This is a fiction. The story has holes enough to drive a truck through. It is a purpose told, manipulated tale. Trying to use a created crisis to argue that abortions be freely available by playing on our emotions is duplicitous but come directly from the leftist playbook.

Tiffany became a lobbyist for NARAL circa 2011 and was even arrested at the DC hearings for Kavanaugh in 2018. She’s also worked for the ACLU in SD.
And even more bizarrely, in 2017 she accused a GOP lawmaker in the state senate of inappropriate behavior toward her in 2011. She wanted to obstruct his appointment to the Board of Prisoners & Parolees. He denied the incident and said he’d never even set eyes on her!
True,Prince of Space revealed the truth about her in his post above.🤔
O.K. her personal story is wierd.
Granted.
But, IF the kind of situation she desrcibed was true, for any woman, when her and the doctors are faced with losing both of her twins, or saving one, I would agree with their saving one, just as I would agree with saving the life of the mother if it’s an either or sitution. It is bad enough when a woman knows she is alive only because the doctor’s saved her life by aborting the baby. It would be worse for the motherless child to grow up learning her mother is gone because her life was saved. It is a burden either way when both lives are at stake.
I don’t think that those kind of situations are abortions they are medical procedures to save the life of Mother or of one of the fetuses.
While there may need to be some fine tuning the situation seems very like the separation of conjoined twins where one may or is likely to die but saving one is perhaps all that can be achieved in a particular case. Very wrenching, very difficult but does not run a foul of laws against murder. Some fetal conditions may fall under the same category.
Okay, fine. Have the procedure. But I’d expect an actual Republican to be saddened by the fact that she to resort to this horrific act. Instead she “became” a NARAL lobbyist who also did work with the ACLU. She also drags this story out every time abortion is threatened.
She can be a brain dead liberal who kills her own baby if she wants to be. But she can’t pretend to be a Republican who has “seen the light” about abortion. Once she does that, it’s open season on her drama, IMO.
Thanks for the info.
