Negros.
I grew up when ‘Negro’ was the polite way to refer to Americans whose ancestors came from Africa. I don’t ever remember it being used as an insult or a slur. Those inclined to insult had another word at hand to use.
Blacks seem to have to change what they prefer to be called because whatever they choose soon acquires negative connotations. It’s a real shame for those who are upstanding and good.

It still is.
It is not my job to speak in a Propaganda Language to conceal the behavior of that group of people, or to signal my Virtue or acceptance of Abnormality and Decivilization.
