The contract he signed with Twitter was unconditional. He only brought up the bot issue later, so it is irrelevant.
He will either be forced to buy Twitter at the higher price or fork over $1 Billion as a penalty for defaulting on the contract.
The idea that he did it in order to expose Twitter or for the betterment of mankind is laughable.
Good for him. I can think of better things to waste my money on.
