My husband, a heart transplant person, was scheduled for his six month evaluation and medically assisted stress test at MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina). We received a call that the testing would have to be rescheduled due to a critical shortage of Dobutamine and they are saving what they have for only emergency treatment. The shortage is expected to last through October.

So sorry to hear that. We are supposed to get a MUSC facility of some sort in Indian Land, SC. They have the land, but no idea if and/or when they will break ground for it.

You may want to contact your SC legislators and US Congressman for assistance, and maybe our RINO US Senators. (It is an election year for Tim Scott.)

Thanks! My husband is twelve years out of transplant, so it isn’t critical for him, it is routine and they will schedule a nuclear stress test instead

Just wanted to give others, who may use it for heat failure and other issues a heads up on the shortage. I told the PA who called that this is terrible in the USA. She said they are stunned and really causing serious problems.
