Will we ever know the identity of the Supreme Court leaker?
American Thinker ^ | 8 Jul, 2022 | Thomas Lifson

There are reasons to fear that the public will kept in the dark forever.

There is growing concern that we may never learn the identity of the person who for the first time in history leaked a draft of a pending decision. It’s been nine and a half weeks since the draft opinion on Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health was published by Politico on May 2. Although this is the biggest breach in Supreme Court security in history, we have had no indication that the culprit has been identified. This is strange, given the very small pool – fewer than 100 clerks, justices and support staff -- of suspects who could have had access to the very secret draft opinion, one that turned out to be very close to the decision finally handed down by the Court.

The agency in charge of Supreme Court leak investigation is the Supreme Court Marshals, which is not an investigative agency, but which provides security for the justices while in Washington, DC, and handles many administrative functions for the Court, including contracts administration, printing documents, paying salaries, and compensating expenses for maintaining buildings and grounds. The total number of staff is 260, including the small Supreme Court Police force that provides security at the Supreme Court Building. It is headed by Col. Gail Curley, a career Army lawyer who has held the title of US Attorney.

Given the magnitude of the breach of Court security, threatening the future integrity of its functioning if leaks become commonplace, it is hard to understand why nothing has been revealed yet to the public about apprehending the miscreant or miscreants. Polygraph tests should have been administered to all who had access to the draft document, the phone records of those with signs of concern should have been subpoenaed,

You got a better chance of finding Jimmy Hoffa or seeing obamas real COLB than finding out who that leaker was.

Having said that, I strongly suspect many liberal elites know exactly who it is.

I’ll wager it was one of the 3 hardcore left-wing justices, and that is why it will never be disclosed. CJ Roberts will not upset the fake collegiality that supposedly exists. The leftist justices have a visceral hatred the originalist-justices.

One thing this does prove is CJ ROberts previous statement, that there were no “political judges” (e.g. no BHO judges) in the federal court system, was either a delusion or a whopper of a lie - he has political judges in his own court.

That about covers it, but it’s hard to tell. When the wise latina stuck up for Clarence Thomas, that caught my attention. I realized at the time it was self serving but still was shocking to me!

“as the leak prevented any of the 6 from changing their minds”

Hadn’t heard that one.

Possibly the judges themselves engineered the leak to lessen the shock and possible violence when the decision was announced. And there was a shock, and the shock waves are still reverberating.

My guess: It was a Person of Color (POC) and putting them in a bad light of any kind is not allowed.

I don’t believe they do, as it wasn’t an ‘inside job’.

An interesting theory. But I do still think that it was done to intimidate one or more of the judges voting to overturn RvW.

You speak of motivation.

The leaker may have been paid, a lot.

“There are a lot of things they know and won’t report. A lot.”

It may be located in the same file bin as the Durham report. You never know. /s

This is just another example of our governments final landing into Chavez regime territory.

I would not bank too much on elections going forward that are fair and legal.

Polygraph tests should have been administered to all who had access to the draft document, the phone records of those with signs of concern should have been subpoenaed,

Of course, and within days of the leak. Hiding the leaker is garbage. Just more American decline.

Yeah...greed can never be ruled out as a motive.

Democratic operatives are NEVER punished, just rewarded. Roberts undoubtedly knows who the leaker is, and knows his place in the cover-up.

We know the main suspects, Sonya, Helen or John along with their staff although I lean toward John given his departure. That said, it also could have been one of the other six but regardless the Politico reporter knows who gave them the draft etc. etc. so at some point we should know.

Only if revealing the leaker is advantageous to one or more of The Royals.

The Federal Government identified the January 6 Peaceful Protesters with blitzkrieg efficiency and lightening speed!

But finding the leaker??? No no no no no.

The corruption in the Federal Government is as breathtaking as it is horrifying.
