BALTIMORE (AP) — A man was shot and killed after he swung a baseball bat at a person who cleans windshields at intersections for cash, Baltimore’s police commissioner said Thursday.
The 48-year-old man who was shot was driving through an intersection near Baltimore’s Inner Harbor in the afternoon when he encountered so-called squeegee workers and had a heated interaction, Commissioner Michael Harrison told reporters.
Squeegee workers, also known as squeegee kids, consist mostly of teens from low-income neighborhoods who clean drivers’ windshields at intersections in exchange for money. Some drivers in Baltimore have complained about them.
The man drove through the intersection, parked his car and came back with a baseball bat, Harrison said.
“He swung the bat at one or more of those squeegee workers. In return, one of the squeegee workers pulled out a gun and fired, striking this male victim,” the commissioner said, adding that police didn’t know if he hit anyone with the bat.
The man was pronounced dead at a hospital. His name wasn’t released.
The workers fled the scene on foot, Harrison said. No arrests had been made as of late afternoon.
A witness told The Baltimore Sun that he saw a squeegee worker shoot the man after he got out of his car with the bat. Cody Bro, who was visiting Baltimore for a convention, said he saw the driver “arguing with one of the squeegee people — the people who squeegee your windows.”
What that tells you, is that when it comes time to confiscate guns, they will only be confiscated from law-abiding white people.

I've been fortunate that I've never had a car sabotaged as far as I know. That would be criminal behavior. What service departments do is recommend unnecessary repairs and try to have the customer agree to the repair. I have a 13 year old car. Some years ago my auto dealership was bought out. The service department went downhill right away. I took the car in for an oil change and the tech told the service rep I needed a clutch overall and it was going to cost parts and 7 hours of labor. What the tech didn't know was I had the clutch replaced under a warranty recall about a year before. 30K+ miles later the clutch still works fine.
It’s the thought that counts.

Disclaimer: A relative was on a trip to Germany and bought me a pair of leather lederhosen - grayish blue iirc. My parents were able to make me wear it once (I didn’t leave the house).
My comment was sarcasm about the overcharging of Republican and conservative crime victims when someone has done something to them, and authorities look for something to charge them with.
Good point, though I never knew Germans to be constantly holding a firearm…nor Americans for that matter.
Point was it looks like he might’ve gotten it from some NAZI wannabe group.

I agree. The guy should have kept on driving. I'm guessing the kid damaged his car when he wouldn't pay the protection money. I'm sure it pissed him off as it would me. The decedent should have just learned his lesson and made a note not to spend time in places where there are such people engaged in such activities.
My comment was about the ridiculousness of the AP describing them as "squeegee workers" instead of describing them as the feral terrorists that they are. Somehow, I doubt the "squeegee worker" possessed the gun legally. Do you think he will be prosecuted for illegal possession of a firearm? (Rhetorical question.)
There was a well-known extortionist in St. Louis years ago that the old-timers used to talk about. You either paid him to clean your window, or risked a broken windshield due to the metal bucket he would smash into it.
He sounded like a lovely guy. I’m not saying a baseball bat is the answer, but I also empathize with the deceased.
