Kentucky Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear's office released an email that confirmed President Biden planned to nominate an anti-abortion judge to the bench - the same day Roe was overturned.

The Courier Journal reported Wednesday that Beshear's office handed over a June 23 email that stated: 'To be nominated tomorrow: ... Stephen Chad Meredith: candidate for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.'

But on June 24, the Supreme Court announced it was overturning Roe, and Meredith's nomination was never announced.

We’ve always known Mitch was a traitor. This isn’t telling us anything new. It just confirms we were right all along.

I’m no fan of Mitch either but I’d like to see what repubs were giving in exchange for the antiabortion judge before I pass judgement on this particular deal.

O.K. we know the quid Biden was going to give McConnel, but what was the pro quo McConnel was going to do for Biden - end the filibuster without a shot being fired????

The Senate GOP should demand answers from McConnell.

Mitch has saved Biden before. He doesn’t need a quid pro quo.

Who is Chad Meredith, the anti-abortion Republican President Biden plans to make a judge?
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/mitch-mcconnell/2022/07/05/who-chad-meredith-bidens-anti-abortion-pick-kentucky-judge/7790119001/

Kentucky native. Abortion foe. Card-carrying Federalist Society Republican.

Kentucky’s next federal judge?

Progressive Democrats and the Twitterverse are in an uproar after The Courier Journal revealed June 29 that President Joe Biden had planned to nominate Chad Meredith for district court judge in Eastern Kentucky.

Biden’s White House notified Gov. Andy Beshear’s administration in an email on June 23 that Meredith was “to be nominated tomorrow.”

I’m thinking it may have been the Senate Republican cave on the BS “common sense” gun control bill that was sent to the WH.

McConnell doesn’t like an armed populace any more than the Rats do.

Buttsmear is too much of a “daddy’s girl” to go against Xiden. His election was cooked. The Demonrat Secretary of State, at the time, never looked into the complaints.

***********

The Senate GOP should remove him. Aside from this issue, his approval numbers are atrociously bad.

But the Senate GOP is content to leave this corrupt Swamp rat in his position. Tells you what they think of us.

Soros targeted SOS elections for years. It has paid off big. No we are the soup, almost every swing state has a rat SOS or collaborator.

The Turtle worked with Brandon for decades in the U.S. Senate. Likely Cocaine Mitch has compromising videos of FJB, and a few other skeletons in the closet.

Am I missing something here? Just because Biden might nominate the guy doesn't mean any Dem's would vote him in. He'd have been a sacrificial lamb in exchange for whatever Mitch would give Biden.

Besides, RINO's never win in these types of deal negotiations. Trump was the only one who could. Mitch and his ilk are as corrupt as any dem...all a bunch of white collar criminals.

From Slate:

"President Joe Biden struck a deal with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to nominate Chad Meredith, a Republican anti-abortion advocate, to a federal judgeship on the Eastern District of Kentucky, Slate has confirmed. Under the arrangement, Meredith would take the seat currently occupied by Judge Karen Kaye Caldwell, a George W. Bush nominee. Caldwell submitted her move to senior status on June 22, which, once complete, will allow Meredith to take the seat. A lawyer with connections to the Kentucky governor’s office who is familiar with the agreement told Slate that Caldwell conditioned her move upon the confirmation a successor—specifically, the conservative Meredith. In exchange, McConnell will allow Biden to nominate and confirm two U.S. Attorneys to Kentucky."

The Biden-McConnell Deal to Make an Anti-Abortion Advocate a Federal Judge Is Still On
