A friend’s Mother passed away a few years back. She was an avid quilter. Everyone attending brought the quilt she had made for them, and they draped them across the backs of the pews in church and one draped her coffin instead of flowers.

It was a stunning tribute to Kay’s Life; there were DOZENS of quilts!

Plenty of PATRIOTS left in this country!

Yep, up thru WWII quilting was still a thing for most country
folks, maybe city but I don’t about them for sure. They would
set up the frame in an area and spend time there. It seems to
me that it was a more winter time event since outside stuff was
limited due to winter weather, etc.
