“I LOVE bookmarks “
Back in 2010, for Christmas I made cross-stitch bookmarks with Bible verses for the ladies in my quilting group. Diane died in 2019, and her daughter took the bookmark. Judy died last Sunday. I know her husband will find it in her Bible, as she said it never has left her Bible.
They’re relatively quick to make, beautiful to look at, and provide a way for friends to remember you.
I have made “cross” ones that I’ve given to family/friends for their Bibles. I have a book of tatted cross bookmarks that I would love to make - gorgeous. I can needle tat, but these require shuttle tatting which I have not delved into yet.
My Aunt was very active with her church - they had a bazaar every December & the money went to help those less fortunate. She was suffering with heart failure & could not make any of the things she usually made ... she was an excellent seamstress and had all sorts of cute things she would contribute. I put together a bunch of bookmarks - cross & some other designs & sent them to FL for the bazaar since she couldn’t do anything. I felt good about it, they sold quite a few, and she was grateful for the help. As it turned out, she did not survive the heart failure so that just makes all things ‘bookmark’ more special to me.
