I think there is more to the opposition to these vaccines than just the side effects. If you read closely, most of those posting these anti-vaccine threads are motivated by a belief in a conspiracy of involving the pharmaceutical companies and the government.
Just like every conspiracy theory, any information that is contrary to the theory is dismissed as proof of a cover up proving the truth of the conspiracy.
