My message to the companies running gas stations and setting prices at the pump is simple: this is a time of war and global peril.
Bring down the price you are charging at the pump to reflect the cost you’re paying for the product. And do it now.

I got my MBA too late in life to be of much use in my career. But it was wonderful in that it fleshed out for me how much of the business world worked in reality. One text compared the cost of gas at the pump to the price of bread in France. The cost of bread in France is one of the most highly regulated commodities in the world. In Florida one of the many, many laws on gas stations is the profiteering law. If the price of the gas suddenly rises due to storms, war, and a whole list of causes then a station is not allowed to raise their price on gas until they have bought gas at the new price. When the prices are going up quickly the stations use a small company that operates tiny tanker trucks. These resemble the trucks that gassed up airliners in the ‘50’s. The operator has keys to the station’s tanks. He drives around at night to each station on his list, pumps 100 gallons into their tank and leaves a receipt for the gas at the new price. That way the station can raise their price the next day.
“Horrible! Awful!” you say. Well, stations make only about a nickel a gallon on gas. They make sixteen dollars in beer, cigarettes and lottery ticket sales for every dollar in fuel sales. Gas powers the other sales. No gas, no beer, cigarettes and lottery ticket sales. If your price per gallon is $4.50 and the store across the street is $4.65 you will sell out of gas in a few hours, and it may be a week before you get another delivery. For that week you’d be lucky to make a single dollar on the stuff that makes a profit. (Plus, all the food and snakes are date stamps and must be thrown out if they don’t sell in time.)
Now, on to Biden and his edict. Rather than the string of four-letter words I normally write next to the word “Biden” I’ll just say that he has no idea how the world works. (Oh, man, that feels SO moderate. Mom would be proud.)
Is there a federal tax on gas? I know states do per gallon.
Day after that speech, “LOSE” buttons were sported on the floor of the NYSE.
I just can’t listen to this fool anymore. He is not funny at all. He is a nasty old piece of lying scum. Sitting back and taking it while he is throwing away US sovereignty, impoverishing and forcefully bullying citizens to take death jabs while enriching all the billionaire buddies makes me ill.
That fake regime is a demon regime who is bringing about our demise.

Joe Biden is a test sent to us by God. How we deal with Biden determines whether or not America remains in the good graces of the Lord.
Oh, we’re at war alright. The the USA is maintaining a very tight economic & financial blockade on Russia over the goings on in Ukraine (where the USA, I would argue, has very little national interest).

The local Sheetz stores make a fortune on their junk food and other “mini mart” crap.
Gas stations have basically become convenience stores with gas pumps outside. When customers were allowed to pump their own gas, it got them out of their cars and even more likely to go into the store.
My experience in situations with people like this....is there is narcissim at the root of it. Narcissists feel no empathy for others and never say they are sorry. It’s not in them. Once you understand, you stop playing their game. It’s not easy because we don’t think like them....and its easy to get drawn back in because of feeling sorry for them. It’s freeing to finally understand what you are dealing with, if this is the issue. Since she engages with wealthy liberals...my guess it is.

But what Deep State is relying upon is that most American consumers don’t realize that gas is a loss leader at most gas stations.
Deep State loves its citizens stupid and stoned for good reason.
That is a difficult thing. I know.
I had a lifelong friend, one of my best friends who I counted as one of my very best friends for nearly fifty years, told me one day that for decades he was angry at me and resented me because he felt like I had treated him unfairly and insensitively.
I was completely caught off guard. I had no idea. And it was quite painful. He had nursed it all those years.
Granted, it is a bit different from your case, but sometimes, it is a revelation when you find out the truth about someone.
From reading your posts over the years, I know how you feel about your dogs. We do love our animals, and rightfully so, for what they generously give us.

The same kind of thing happened to my parents. They were very loving and generous people.
People like you, and them, are genuine and giving without judgement.
She saw your kindness and took advantage of you. As long as the relationship was you give, she takes, things remained friendly. She never had any intentions of helping you because she is the taker. I imagine if someone asked her why she never helped you out after he helped you, she would say “ I never asked for his help, he offered it so I don’t owe him anything”.
This is a common answer from people like that.
She wasn’t worth a flat dime you spent on her, but God knows who both of you are.
