1 There are reports that Robert Crimo III has been arrested.
2 There are a number of Crimo’s that came from Italy in Highland Park showing in the 1940 census. Ancestry.com shows a Robert E Crimo Jr, Age 92 who lives the next town over, Highwood IL.
I cannot confirm he is the Grandfather of the suspect. I think he is too old for Father, so I suspect that III had father that had a different name if he was actually related. Highwood is a former Army base town that was the only wet town on the Northwestern train line. It was also a Catholic town in the mostly WASP North Shore of Chicago.The town was mostly Italian up to about 1990 when it started to trend Mexican. Bankers from Lake Forest and Lake Bluff would get off in Highwood, go into a bar and have a drink with friends, and get the next train home. I think that III was not living in Highwood, but somewhere in the Highland Park area.
3 My guess is that the family was not rich, but Rbrt III had to go to school in a very rich school district, was very different, not from a rich family, and he was not one of the popular kids who did not have any expectations of college. So, resentment, dislike of the rich around him, probably bullied and at some point had mental issues and he decided to strike out at the rich bullies. We will find out soon.
