Abortions in Florida and Kentucky may temporarily resume after judges barred the states from enforcing abortion bans on Thursday.
Kentucky and twelve other states implemented a trigger law which would outlaw abortions in the instance of a ruling to overturn the 1973 landmark, Roe v. Wade.
Kentucky Judge Mitch Perry granted a temporary restraining order on Thursday to halt the state from enforcing a ban triggered by the Supreme Court's 6-3 vote - the state passed the trigger law in 2019.
'We're glad the court recognized the devastation happening in Kentucky and decided to block the commonwealth's cruel abortion bans,' Planned Parenthood said in a statement.
The ban was lifted since being implemented on Friday following the Supreme Court Ruling. The state intended to limit abortions to be allowed only if needed to prevent death or injury to the mother.
The ruling was met with contention by Republican State Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who claimed Perry had no right under the Kentucky constitution to allow abortion services to resume.
'We cannot let the same mistake that happened in Roe v. Wade, nearly 50 years ago, to be made again in Kentucky,' Cameron said. 'We will be seeking relief from this order.'
Florida Judge John Cooper temporarily halted the block on abortions after 15-weeks following a petition from abortion advocate groups. The ban was signed into law by Republican Governor Ron DeSantis in April and was set to take effect on Friday - following the overturn of Roe.

I think the Texas legislature should impeach any judge blocking the enforcement of the Texas abortion laws.
Can Massachusetts grant its citizens a "right to healthcare" that Utah doesn't?
If there is no right to privacy at the federal level, can there be such a right at the state level?
I'm too ignorant of legal theory to know the answer myself.
Every time I see a story like this, I keep wondering why a 2022 lawsuit against a statute passed in 2019 or 2020 wouldn’t be barred for not being filed in a timely manner.
The first judge was not smacked down immediately so new we have
this.
Of course they can! The left wants to turn every idea that comes from leftist states into national law. They can’t stand the idea that individual states can set policies on their own, especially what they consider “regressive policies.”
Yes, yes, and yes.
Then a 4473 violates my right to privacy.
Devastation?? Irrational Hyperbole much?
O o e would have had standing while Roe stood.
The rule of law is as dead as a bag of hammers.
Whatever they do it’s lash- out. The constitution has been respected finally and this country no longer condones nor promotes abortion
I have a photo of my friend’s A 10 on the ramp in - in some undisclosed location - all shot up. He landed it in that condition. He’d been taking flak because he was over the target.
That’s all this is
The plane landed.
Just for those with a ??? over their head.
A Firearms Transaction Record, or ATF Form 4473, is a six-page form prescribed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives required to be completed when a person proposes to purchase a firearm from a Federal Firearms License holder, such as a gun dealer
I thought SCOTUS said the abortion issue was up to each state’s legislature and that it was NOT a matter for the courts. So, now starts the individual state law suits and back to the Supreme Court it goes (in approximately five years from now.
So, all those Never-Trumpers who are happy to trade in a few mean tweets and have Biden appoint judges, Congratulations!
Yes that is correct. There is no such thing as a right to privacy, that was made up in the original Roe case out of whole cloth by the court to justify their wrong decision.
The Left keeps grabbing straws. It’s the only thing they have....
Your really a little naive on this, right now the court has come down with decisions to move the pendulum back a little toward the middle, but that’s all. We have to be careful of what the future may hold as to the court packing scheme.
Now I am all for packing the court, let create a 50 member court, one justice from each state. Nothing will ever get done at that point. It would be beautiful Chaos.
Does a judge have the authority to interfere with an established law?
If there is a right to privacy, then the income tax, vaccine mandates, and innumerable other laws would be unconstitutional. Using “a right to privacy” to justify abortion is the left doing it’s usual perverting of language to get what it wants.
When the Dem party orders them to get involved it doesn’t matter
