As i understand it Pence could have returned the vote to the state legislatures to ensure the integrity of the the process with all the doubts about vote counts etc.

He weasled out, and to me proved that he’s pure Politician and cabal.

If anyone thinks a Dem VP wouldnt have done this they are missing how the Dems don’t care about impressions as the MSM will cover for them..

Even if Pence had the authority to return the vote to the legislature, and he didn't, on what grounds would he do so? No legislature requested their voted be returned or sent a second slate of electors. No court had ordered electors be returned. No court had found any evidence of fraud. Are you suggesting Pence could have returned the votes simply because he wanted to?

The "as I understand it" part you describe seems reasonable, but it simply is not correct. Read the 12th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It says nothing about the VP having that kind of power. And it makes no sense to give a VP that kind of power, because if he had it he could (theoretically) keep sending it back to the state legislatures over and over again for years.
