AZ is finally nbr 1 in education advances. The state just passed a law allowing total school choice for parents and the cost will be offset by a present of $7,000 from the governor. Public school, religious school, private school and home school all covered.. Nationwide movement to be expected.

“by a present of $7,000 from the governor.”

From the taxpayers.

From the taxpayers.

Would you prefer they send their kids to public school that costs the state $14,000 per student?

Yeah that’s a no-brainer, now the Republicans in Arizona need to sell this plan to minorities who are the primary ones to suffer with terrible inner-city schools, get them in private or charter schools and hook them as voters.

Let Democrats try to eliminate school choice if it’s properly implemented, it would be like trying to eliminate social security.

There’s plenty of news about it. Couldn’t you find an article to post?

What does that have to do with them saying it’s a present from the Governor? It’s NOT a present from the Governor.

James Lindsay has raised the fear that accepting vouchers from the government may push charter and parochial schools under the yoke of the same Woke madness that grips government schools. Government money comes with a price etc. Something to keep in mind anyway.

The Left managed to make our educational attainment the LAUGHING STOCK of the Free World*.

And even with the above, Vouchers were out of the question. The Left always opposed them, and enough idiot conservatives also opposed them since ‘their wonderful public schools’ were immune from this rot. I guess.

Anyway, even with such an ‘excellent’ success story for the Left, that still wasn’t enough - and so public schools have now become Grooming Centers.

...and finally conservatives realized that maybe they should think about ‘harder’ before mindlessly enrolling their kids in those government institutions...and Arizona just took the first step to make that possible.

*I know, public schools are free, so no big deal if the kids don’t learn, at least with most conservative parents

The end result of this will be the same as when government started paying for college.

I live in Phoenix, Arizona. Charter schools pop up like mushrooms and there is no shortage of minorities using them. I don’t know as much about the private schools, but I believe that minorities are taking advantage of those as well.

Also note in Arizona you can get up to $800 state income tax refund on private school donations regardless of tax bracket, and businesses can target favored schools (and other charities) with their $800 as well.

You think so? Where else have you lived? I have lived in Arizona, Illinois, Connecticut and Georgia. For me, at least AZ is lowest by FAR, with GA a distant 2nd, and Illinois/CT crazy high.

I have owned property in Arizona and NC
my property tax is bigger than all my utilities combined
it is a huge burden
and I do not live in a mansion

I have heard many transplants complain about the property tax here, especially those who have lived in Michigan or NC.

AZ must be very variable. My property tax is less than my water/trash bill.
My IL tax was the one that was more than all my utilities and then some.

And what about their property taxes and the school taxes contained in them. What happens to them if/when public school enrollment drops?
