it wasn't long ago that Smith & Wesson, which has had its headquarters in Massachusetts for 100+ years, announced they were moving to Tennessee. Howie Carr,a great Boston talk show host, said he had sources at the company who said that management was fed up with the state's politicians and expected even more mistreatment in the future.

I don’t remember that. What actions did S&W take with their handguns in that agreement?I think that it was both single and double actions.

I really like my Smith & Wesson's: .38 Special, Airweight Revolver M&P15 Sport II 5.56 I love my not so airweight X-Frame SW 460 magnum. I imagine that it could blow a lung or two out while evacuating a chest cavity. That baby packs a whollup

The #1 is still available on a very limited basis. A big Ruger distributor Lipsey’s offers them in boutique calibers such as .257 Roberts etc….
Another consideration is they probably want to dedicate as much manufacturing capacity as possible to hot items.
But like the.41 Mag and 16 gauge the #1 is a niche item that will never disappear completely.

LOL. You made me snort my coffee.
I’ll remember you next time I am at the range.
I gots some humor to share.

Just what I was going to say. They caved once, now they’re standing out front. Kudos.

You would have to do the research on that.
I do not recall the details, other than some form of bankruptcy.
