Elected prosecutors across 29 states have signed a statement suggesting they will refuse to prosecute people who seek, assist and provide those who have abortions following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn the 50-year law that guaranteed access to the procedure in every state.
Those signing the statement include officials from states including Mississippi, Missouri and Wisconsin that have enacted bans or about to introduce bans following Roe v. Wade's reversal.
'Not all of us agree on a personal or moral level on the issue of abortion, but we stand together in our firm belief that prosecutors have a responsibility to refrain from using limited criminal legal system resources to criminalize personal medical decisions.
'As such, we decline to use our offices' resources to criminalize reproductive health decisions and commit to exercise our well-settled discretion and refrain from prosecuting those who seek, provide, or support abortions,' read the statement which has been signed by 84 prosecutors.
The group includes district attorneys and state attorneys general, according to NBC.
The prosecutors added further detail explaining how enforcing abortion bans would 'hinder our ability to hold perpetrators accountable, take resources away from the enforcement of serious crime, and inevitably lead to the retraumatization and criminalization of victims of sexual violence.'
One district attorney from Texas, Joe Gonzalez, whose jurisdiction includes the city of San Antonio, said 'using limited resources to prosecute personal healthcare decisions would be a violation' of his oath.
Texas is among 13 states that would automatically ban abortion in the first and second trimesters within 30 days of the Supreme Court's decision.

Where is the Democrat-sponsored Federal law legalizing abortion in all 50 states? Democrats control the entire government - it should be no problem to force it through right now and be the big heroes who stood up to the Evil Trump Court, right? They’ll win many elections this Fall if they take such a principled stand, right? Right…?
Well...there is one other remaining option.
They've also just signed a document saying they'll be an accessory to murders.
Not really interested in them prosecuting the women involved; what I’d REALLY want is to prosecute anyone involved in facilitating or performing the abortions, however.....
If a woman seeking an abortion goes into one of these abattoirs and real medical complications arise, the butchers operating them will do everything in their power to keep something like calling EMS to get the victim competent medical help because they cannot stand the scrutiny that comes with it.
Women who seek illegal abortions are not prosecuted....abortion providers are!!!
The women aren’t the issue it’s the medics who provide for them that’s going to be on trial.
How to find out how money has wings.
No surprise whatsoever. For democRAT S there are no laws, rules, regulations or statues. They have to lie and cheat to get elected. They cannot tell the truth about what they want to do.
I remember when a Federal Judge ruled that Obama could not just write an Executive Order banning drilling on Federal land. At first, he and Eric Holder just ignored it. Then, the Judge got pissed and summoned Holder. After Holder and Obama were told that the EO was invalid, they stated something to the effect of ‘Okay Judge’ and then Obama just wrote a ‘new’ EO stating the same thing.
There are no rules, regulations or laws, just traditions; KKK, ANTIFA, ETC.
The funny thing is that Chesa Boudin was recalled for doing exactly what he said he was going to do in regards to crime and exactly what he campaigned and won on.
Pretty easy to guess, criminals walk through stores iwith calculators and steal up to $749.00 and leave.
