They have camels and other exotic animals at the school although most kids don’t get much time with them other than cleaning and feeding them. Mostly being ranch hands.
The ranch had a camel there for the boys to pet and to take care of. Although the story says the camel was there for window dressing and the boys never got to touch it after that.
