From stag dos to holidays, to concerts and long-planned events - people travelling on Britain's rail network face a week of uncertainty and disruption amid the biggest train strikes in 30 years.

Strikes are going ahead on most major lines on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Disruption to rail services on non-strike days is also expected. Network Rail has urged passengers to only travel by train if necessary. A strike is also taking place across the London Underground on Tuesday.

Has anyone else noticed that they always seem to use a 71 Chevelle SS or Buick GS in the movies?

Two of the most beautiful cars ever made

You have hit upon an interesting point. If I were a train union boss, I would love the government’s attempt to get rid of those nasty automobiles. Less of them means even more leverage for me.

I guess you could outlaw train strikes, and take swift action when they try it anyway. But I don’t think there are any Margaret Thatchers left in England.
