Um, without ROI no films would be made.
This is not Dementia Joe's government who just keep printing even more money and sending inflation skyrocketing.
We're talking about if it made a dent in the typical weekly ratings.
You are.
And it made far lower than the last iteration of the same movie series.
Read post #51.
Sorry. It's a “hit” by public standards.
Nope.
Not a huge one, likely, but still made the charts.
Making $70 million less that the last iteration of the same movie series is not a “hit”.
It bombed.
And it will do even worse outside the country with all the banning.
It’s the second-highest income this week.
That means it’s a “hit”. Period. At least relatively speaking.
And if it keeps making c40 mil for the next few weeks that’s still a relative hit.
We’re comparing it to CONTEMPORARY FILMS THIS MONTH, not its predecessors in the series or other cartoons.
(Do not read this as defending the movie or any such thing. It’s just looking at reality. The best thing you can say is it is low compared to its predecessors - but that may be because no one is going to movies since the COVID hysteria, which has killed theater attendance more than Hulu itself did.)
