The only book I could not finish? Moby Dick by Melville.

I’ve spent hours on it. 20 or 30 hours or more. Didn’t even get halfway through.

Me too. I’ll add The Brothers Karamazov. That I got 3/4 through.

I guess we are all different, over the years I have read it at least 3 times and various chapters many more.

The Gregory Peck movie is good, not so much the Patrick Stewart version ( he is a good actor).

Never could get more than a few words into Joyce.

I was able to get through Moby Dick.

There were parts that were more like an instruction guide on how to catch, slaughter, and process whales.

Other parts were creepy in a "Hello sailor!" sort of way if you get my drift.
