Rand says a freeze would have balanced the budget a few years ago then it needed a penny plan but Congress ignored that, then a two penny plan now it requires a six penny plan.

Make China pay the $1.6 trillion in unpaid Chinese treasuries that they've defaulted on for a century and owe American citizens (now their heirs).

The capital gains tax on that would be a yuge revenue.

If they made it law to balance the budget and pay down the debt back in 2005, nobody would have noticed financially.

Rand says 50 Republicans are supposedly for the balanced budget amendment to the constitution which calls for a balanced budget in 5 years which explains why he chose that timeframe

But nearly half of the Republicans STILL vote against his resolution...

The problem is not the Dems it is half the Republicans.

The GOP might have the majority next year and therefore control over the budget.

Stop base line budgeting, abolish the Legal Services Corporation, midnight basketball. Obozo care, the “environmental” protection agency, department of energy which produces NO energy, and a myriad of other federal alphabet agencies.

STOP SPENDING MONEY! Stop sending DC one dollar to get 10 cents back in services. In short, cut the government by 50 to 75 percent and freeze spending. Does any politician in DC have the testicles to do that?

Just when the demon rat Cloward-Piven agenda is working so well, Rand cannot be this naive.

Will be interesting to see what happens next year.

GOP in Congress is split, isn’t it? Half of them vote for more spending with the Dems.

Will this continue?

Line up every federal worker alphabetically. Fire every other one.

Then fire the entire FBI, abolish the ATF, DOE,...

Sell all federal lands to US citizens only.

Problem solved.

Who does this guy think he is? Ross Perot? ;)

This cr@p should’ve been taken care of DECADES ago. And yet...

Who LIVES like this? BUDGETS like this? Get themselves into irreconcilable DEBT like this? It’s obscene! It’s sinful! And it ain’t no way to run a country!

Oh, that’s right! I forgot! EVERYTHING IS ‘FREE!’ *SPIT*

This is true. When the GOP controls everything what will they do this time?

Don’t forget that many Bush Leaguers are still there and ignored people like you last time.

I think this time might be different but I dont know. I dont blame people for being cynical...

No COLA increases for any recipient of Federal outlays until the budget is within 20% of being balanced.(On the negative side of budgets, government entities should never be hoarders of money)

Also 10 to 15 percent reduction(Including military, SSI, Medicare, etc) in all Federal bureaucracies until receipts & outlays get “in the ballpark.”

However, the federal government, state government, & local government can’t be allowed to hoard money and run surpluses. Any surplus money needs to be returned to individuals and the commercial operations who pay the taxes

Its a balancing act that can be done, with the right leadership & mentality. However, it won’t happen.

McTurtle won’t cooperate because he’s an anti Trump asshole from Kentucky, who got elected to the Senate in 1984, now he’s DC establishment not a Kentuckian. (He knows who butters his bread) Federal spending goes up regardless of Presidents, Senators, or House Reps.(See Federal Budgets since the 1980’s for a reference)

McStupid has been part of the problem for 38 years. The Junior Senator from Kentucky is much better on these issues.

Ross Perot tried to warn us, yes.

Now our debt is so great you could sell everything in the United States, everything owned by local, state, federal governments, everything owned by private individuals, corporations, small businesses, farms, railroads, everything.

Then you would come up $66 trillion short. It really is that bad.

A balanced budget is meaningless unless a law forbidding Congress from spending over a set percentage of our cumulative incomes is passed. Otherwise, the derelicts will just keep raising taxes.

No five year budget rationalization plan would ever continue past the first year even if conscientiously carried out the first year. The only way to get to a balanced budget is to totally cut off funding for ALL the federal agencies and all heir programs then kill them and resurrect the Attorney General (without its constituent agencies including FBI and CIA, etc), Defense, State (without its constituent agencies), and repeal Civil Service. Essentially to go back to the original Cabinet of G Washington without Interior.
