I am reminded of the movie AFRICA SCREAMS in which an ape gets a crush on Lou Costello.
After the movie was on TCM, Ben Mankiewicz said that the censors refused to allow a love affair between an ape and man. So the writer declared the ape was actually a male. The censors said that was OK!
