Wait, this is in Illinois, so wasn’t it just a “clump of cells”? I thought you could only call it a “child” if you live in Alabama, or Texas, some backwards place like that?
I think the difference is, if she wanted it it’s a child, and if she didn’t it’s a clump of cells. There are some pro-choice people who are nevertheless ok with the existence of criminal murder charges for the willful murder of unborn children, when the mother wanted the child. That would then lead to two counts of first degree murder in this case.
