This is a good read. Any of our regulars post it yet?

We gotta use our heads. We never do. Trump will continue to have problems with suburban women. How many of your wives remember $hit you did long ago? A good plug for DeSantis. The good senators won't work. Executive governors work best. Can Trump lighten up? Too many here prefer the ogre to our enemies.

I love Trump, and would gladly vote for him again. But honestly, Desantis is a better version of Trump, than Trump. I believe Desantis would blow Biden away in the election, while with Trump.. it might be close enough for the libs to steal again.

Trump made bad staff picks and endorsements last time.

He is doing the same this time....maybe even worse endorsements.

Who is the author/idiot?

Clueless buffoon learned nothing. Still thinks like media tells him to think.

And then in his Dunning Kruger he writes about his simpletonism.

It was about all that I could stomach. You call this steaming pile of doo doo a “good read”?

DeSantis isn’t going to run for president. When will YOU learn.

I read some of it. At this point people have their minds made up about Donald Trump. A detailed analysis is not required.

One response said
“DeSantis is a young and articulate Trump who will not “throw stones at every dog that barks!”

Not accurate. Trump automatically launches a response to anyone who attacks him first. He is sort of rules-based in that regard.

DeSantis would perform better than Trump did in the debates. Trump was too easily distracted by the likes of Chris Wallace and others who were obviously biased against him. DeSantis wouldn’t take that crap and he would make the moderators look like the fools that they are.

Too many here prefer the ogre to our enemies.

I don't believe that's an accurate representation.

It's more accurate to say that what many of us wanted (myself included) was someone who'd take the fight back to the Democrats, not let them get away with their bullsh*t, kick 'em all square in their crotch and put America first.

The fact that Legit President Trump did that for FOUR YEARS despite being under constant attack and fraudulent 'investigations' and never, ever wavered in his America First stance tells me much about him that I like and continue to support.

That said, yes, Legit President Trump may still have problems with suburban women. Keep in mind these same women have struggled mightily the last 16 months keeping kids fed, clothed, getting them educated and protected from the LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ groomers, and from what I hear, are recoiling in horror at what the Democrat party has become. All that on top of the massive inflation the country is experiencing, the sticker shock on food, clothes, gas, all the basic necessities of life.

If that doesn't make them turn away from the Democrat Party and Joe Biden, nothing will.

And that's got nothing to do with Legit President Trump.

The GOP needs a 2024-Ronald Reagan.

Like the first Ronald Reagan the POTUS of 2024 will enter with still very high inflation and interest rates running high (hopefully, due to the Fed finally trying to choke off inflation).

People will be hurting financially, but there will be big international security issues also, and no time to reduce military spending. But with the public still suffering while inflation is wrenched out of the economy, the Dim mantra in Congress will be for big federal domestic spending “to help the people”.

Ronald Reagan managed to withstand that Dim onslought over his first term. It will take another Ronald Reagan to do it again for eight years beginning in 2024.

Even now among the Dims and the Left what you hear about Reagan’s first term is not how Volker was wrenching inflation out of the economy, but how bad things were and how little Reagan wanted to do “for the people”. Of course we know what Reagan was doing with tax and other policies was to help the economy get past the period of high inflation and into growth, and with growth would come job growth, and that growth would be the medicine the people needed more than handouts. But 100$ of the media and the Dims believed not in that and believed, and repeated, their idea that Reagan was simply heartless towards the “needs of the people”.

I am not sure I see that Ronald Reagan in Trump or DeSantis and fear either one could be a one term President in the climate in which they will find themselves in 2024.

He’s assuming Trump won’t be back before 2024. Everyone better hope he is because if 2020 isn’t overturned Jesus Christ couldn’t win on the GOP ticket in 2024. Much less DeSantis.

The penner of this missive deludes himself into thinking that one person, previously unknown in national political circles except as someone to beg money from come election time, can walk in and change at least three generations of rot in every facet of government... in two years?

Yes... not even four years, factoring in how the establishment RINOs tried to screw him at every turn for messing with their sandbox.

Kinda like “High Noon” where surrounding cowards expect the sheriff to save the town by himself while they cower behind doorways.

Another Trump turn at the wheel would allow him, now that he knows the rules, to come in and start meetings with “You’re Fired” immediately, while also grooming successors to continue carrying the flag.

Anyone that thinks this has been a ‘one term’ solution is living on Mars.

Exactly...almost everything that Mr Hunt mentioned that President Trump should have done (hindsight being 20/20) is the responsibility of the states or cities.

There are some good points to the column. Given the level of almost total destruction of the country inflicted by the Media-Dem-Soros Party in just the last 17 months, I shudder to think what the country will be like by the time Biden’s illegitimate term is over.

Food for thought:

No republican president will succeed with RINOS running the show. The were the biggest enemy 2015-present.

The criticisms against Trump will be the same criticisms of DeSantis (or any MAGA candidate) because the swamp and RINOS will treat them the same way Trump was.

If all of our enemies foreign and domestic fear Trump more than anyone, why would we NOT support him? If Trump were as feckless as some here claim, then our enemies would want him re-elected.

To think that someone else would do better than Trump is based on theories that have never been true: growing the party, appealing to minorities, defining the party. Trump is the only republican that has accomplished all of the above against numerous enemies ESPECIALLY RINOS. The only ally he had was his supporters.

If you’re determined to ‘try’ something new, wait til 2028. Then you can blindly vote for the same losers you’ve been voting for the last 30 years.

Don’t believe me? How many republicans have you seen treated like Trump and still holding their ground? Zero. No one has been undermined, attacked and vilified like Trump.

In case your memory lacks, watch ‘The Plot Against the President’ documentary free on Tubi. Then recollect on how Trump handled the world stage. No one has done better. To the DeSantis lovers, he’s a great governor who has the support of legislature. He will not have that support in DC. Bank on it.

FWIW, I think Trump would be the LAST guy to say he’s got a right to refusal.

Lives, fortunes, sacred honor...

The man walks the walk.

I like DeSantis, but if Trump decides to run he’s still got my whole-hearted support.

We are beyond Trump, but in the end it doesn’t matter what his negatives are, because all the energy from the opposition will be transferred to the next candidate. The Uniparty is DONE messing around, and there will be no real conservative tolerated in the Presidency.

It is over, and people should prepare themselves.

Trump has already accomplished the best things that he can do for a guy who is what he is - a destroyer. He destroyed the once-powerful Clintons. He destroyed the once-respected Bushes. He destroyed the notion that network news is not fake. He destroyed the idea that America should do what the world thinks instead of what is good for America first. He destroyed the myth that Republicans must apologize their way to success.

Those are lasting political and societal victories. Whether he runs or wins again or not, I'll always be grateful for those.

I'd likely vote DeSantis in a primary, but I will vote for The Don if he wins it.

Trump also made some real bone-head moves and has committed some brutal errors I don't forgive him for because he will not acknowledge them as mistakes: TrumpRyanCare, the TrumpSwampVax, etc.

Personally, I wish more Trump fans would acknowledge that the fight is going to be long. Trump himself, even if elected again, is not going to finish most of the things we'd like done.

Instead of treating him like a savior, we should treat him like a brave and impure example. Instead of badgering other good folk into not running against Trump, we should badger those folk into promising to be like Trump in the good things he's done and promising not to make the giant mistakes he has made. Same for Trump. Talk of him deserving another term is intellectually disgusting. He is nowhere near perfect.

I hate this aspect of him, but clearly he is populist. He relies on public opinion to drive many of his positions - we are simply fortunate that public opinion favors many things that are good for America. So don't be afraid to criticize Trump when he's wrong. There is nobody Trump is afraid to criticize. If you want to be more like Trump, then tell him when he's wrong.

Trump is NOT going to solve all problems. He is not going to live forever. There is a fair chance he won't even run again. Don't give up the ship if he does not. Learn the good lessons he taught us and hold those truths he exposed to us. And learn from his mistakes. Then vote for people who seem to have learned those good things and who will strive to avoid the bad things.

People who would give up on America if Trump is not our next president are people who will become part of the problem. He is not the last hope. Personally, I'd love to see a somewhat Trump-like personality but with a much more 10th Amendment agenda.

I believe in Trump, and I really like DeSantis. I’ll vote for whichever one runs. If they both run, I’ll have to really pray about it, but since Trump was cheated out of his second term, he deserves it. It’s a really hard choice for me.
