TOTAL BS! What do you use for bait to catch fish? Fish! Minnows, etc. who pays for a “study” like this? Just send me the money and I can tell you.

Why do we have the expression "To cut bait?" On the gulf Coast we catch a Croaker and cut it up to catch Red Fish. You usually end up with some catfish mixed in with the Red Fish.
What do these people think fish eat in the wild? Try to think of any specie that doesn't eat some sort of seafood to live.

But the over riding question still remains. Do cannibals eat other cannibals and if they do are they then called cannibal squared?

See post #3. I have a feeling he will have to post that every other post.

How about rainbow trout, members of the salmon family, eating salmon eggs?

When you think about it, how do wild animals avoid cannibalism? They have to know what they look like, have to be able to identify other animals they meet, and avoiding eating their own kind. And they have this self-awareness of what they look like without the benefit of mirrors or even heads on necks that can swivel and twist and turn around to see parts of they own bodies. How in the world can an animal know what it looks like?

Do cannibals eat other cannibals and if they do are they then called cannibal squared? Metacannibals, I would think.

Judging by what I see daily where I live on the marsh...little fish leaping out of the water because they are being pursued by bigger fish...no, it’s a basic food gathering strategy.
What else do big fish eat but little fish?
Why do you bait your hook with something that looks like a little fish?

But the fish are not the same species of fish.
It is sort of like calling humans cannibals because they eat their fellow mammals.
Cow is not the same species as human so eating a burger is not cannibalism.

As a bass angler I was always under the impression male bass will eat the bass fry. And ‘baby bass’ is a popular color pattern I use frequently.

I watched a shark documentary a few years ago that showed videos of baby sharks eating their siblings in the womb.
Only the strong survived to be born.
