Years ago, there was some Guard troop on a local radio show. He was saying that he carried an M-16A2 in the sandbox, by preference. He said one young troop once said “Lemme have a look at that musket, Pops.”

Optics is a great thing to have but so is that iron sighted no-nonsense 20” barrel A2. Everyone should have one.
