Joanna Jones, 39, was flying to London from Antigua when her 14-year-old daughter Poppy needed oxygen and two EpiPen shots during the nightmare eight-hour flight after suffering a severe reaction to the nuts.
As Poppy's condition worsened, a quick-thinking nurse on board dashed to help - while the captain considered making an emergency landing.
Eventually the pilot landed the plane safely at Gatwick and Poppy was rushed to hospital.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Joanna said: ’It was a nightmare for all of us and I really thought she might die.

A passenger, 10 rows away, opens a small bag of peanuts... and particles reached her? Considering plane ventilation, I’m not buying it.
And shouldn’t she be wearing a mask?? One of the few cases where it would actually work!
Then you’ve never seen real allergies.
I believe it because I know someone that sensitive.
I remember a story from a couple years back where a couple teen boys were charged with attempted murder or something equally serious for causing a severe nut allergic reaction in a fellow classmate. Don't really remember all the details. But they had done more than just violate a Peanut ban, they had actually gone as far as grind up peanuts and rub them on the kids locker handle, so a bit more deliberate and malicious than just ignoring a ban.
I have over 1.6 million miles on Southwest, famous for their peanuts.
And there have been a few times that passengers were told that there would be no snacks on the flight due to a peanut allergy onboard.
Nowadays I imagine that they would stock up on more 100 cal packets of crackers and distribute those.
And there has certainly been an increase in peanut allergies since the 80’s.
Or at least the knowledge about them.
If someone is that allergic, it’s on them to find a nut free airline.
Why did we never hear about allergies this severe 50 years ago? I’m guessing something has happened to the diets of pregnant mothers where they’re not ingesting things like milk, peanuts or peanut butter to acclimate their babies to such things. Opinions?
When I was a kid, you’d always heat about some kid who choked to death on a peanut. These days, not so much.
My suspicion is that what killed those kids was anaphylaxis and nobody understood what the real cause was.
Don’t believe this at all. While at the airport there were many people walking around with peanuts or some item that had peanuts in them. A man who is already eating peanuts ten rows away did not cause the issue with the finale peanuts.
This women had an EpiPen and pills to handle this. Peanuts are everywhere. Peanut oil is everywhere. There would have been peanuts in my computer case. I would have eaten them on the plane. I bet there were 10 people with peanut laden food on the plane. And many more in the airport.
I agree with those who say that some children grow up in too clean a house and environment due to fanatical cleanliness type parents. The children also get every vaccine to guard against X,Y and Z. This way the children get a weakened immune system and allergies of all sorts.
Can you believe that in the 1950s-1970s parents would have chicken pox parties and sleep overs, so that their kids would build up immunity to chicken pox. We are the exact opposite these days.
WEF and the powers that be are anti-natural immunity. Free Republic has been my best resource during the Covid scamdemic with all our postings on HCQ, horse paste, ivermectin, zinc, quercetin, Vitamin D. Me-- never clot shot vaxxxxed and taking 5-10 thousand iu D3 and K2 every day. Magnesium too.
Buy all the peanuts you want. But there is no natural right to eat them after you’ve been given a good reason not to. Your peanuts can wait. Eat ‘em later. If there is any truth to this story, the passenger should be charged with depraved indifference.
Peanut allergies can be cured. I would suggest anyone who has a peanut allergy or anyone’s kid go on the regiment to cure it. I would not want to go thru life worried about what may happen to me accidently or from the actions of some schmuck.
It seems like a huge risk to fly commercial if you are THAT allergic. Even if 100% of the passengers are fully considerate and discard everything that might have peanuts (probably not happening nowadays).
What if someone has an open bag of peanuts in a purse they forgot about about? Or they eat homemade cookies from a family gathering they didn’t even know have peanuts?
...I saw a man around ten rows in front eating nuts.

That’s over 20 feet away. We’re told planes have excellent passenger air filtration systems, so how would any aroma travel that far. It’s more likely the mother’s hysteria induced a panic attack in the kid.
People need to take care of their own health and not force the rest of us to bend to their conditions.
If the daughter is that allergic, perhaps a plane flight was not a wise option.
One of my son’s baseball teammates was so allergic that they could not have any peanut related snacks in either dugout - even handling a ball that someone who had eaten peanuts touched would cause a reaction. It’s crazy
how does someone like that function in the real world?
That is exactly what we did - switched to goldfish crackers or pretzels.
Not understanding at all these armchair doctors dismissing the almost-death of a child due to her allergy.
The fact that you had to do this doesn’t render skepticism heartless. More facts needed here.
It’s as much as a panic attack as anything. My sister has these with asthma. If she smells smoke, she freaks out and hits the inhaler which doesn’t help because it is not an asthma attack
