I’m so confused. I keep hearing that Russians are on the cusp of collapse and Ukrainians are winning battle after battle.
It depends on where and when.
Initially Putin tried to execute headshot by sending paratroopers to Kyiv and 40k soldiers. He thought Ukraine would fold just as it did in 2014 and that bis troops would be welcomed as liberators.
He was wrong.
The russians were beaten back in the north and held in the south and east.
Since April the goal was shortened to the Dinbas and now it is to just Luhansk.
So Russia is giving up land in the south around Kherson and has spent 2 months has been stuck in Lihansk.
Ukraine was holding well there, and Russian discontent was growing.
Note that they still haven’t taken over Sevierodonetsk and still don’t have even localized air supremacy.
