Show up in Boston during a blinding snowstorm in a western overcoat, cowboy boots, and a winter cowboy hat...they have a tendency to look at you funny and know you “ain’t from here” - LOL!
Not to mention the looks you get when you say, “Good mornin’” to everyone you pass on the street.

I grew up in a crowded suburb outside of DC, though I’m from a Southern family and pretty friendly myself. But when I first drove into very rural areas and my boyfriend was waving at people on the street I asked, ‘You know all these people?’
In DC - which was really like a quiet Southern city when I was first growing up, especially in Summer - it’s mostly the Black folks who are careful to always say, ‘Good Morning’ or more usually, ‘How you doin’?’
