Actor Owen Wilson had $4,000 worth of tires and rims stolen from his Tesla that was parked outside his Santa Monica mansion as crime continues to soar in the area.
The Zoolander star reportedly told police that the theft happened overnight and that he discovered the missing tires the next morning.
Crime is surging in Los Angeles, so much so that it has also leaked into nearby communities such as Santa Monica, Brentwood, Marina Del Rey, Pacific Palisades, and other tony areas.
In fact, despite that Santa Monica is usually ranked as one of California’s safest cities, residents of the L.A. suburb were shocked when the town made the list as one of California’s least safe cities this year.

I have not doubt that he has a garage, probably large enough to hold a dozen vehicles. But parking it inside would negate the purpose of owning a Tesla. Gotta leave it out in the open to display his virtue and wokeness to the world.
Replacement parts, especially rims, are hugely overpriced because car companies know that it’s usually insurance companies paying for them. Most aluminum rims have a core charge meaning it’s price plus they get you old rims back or add another 500 or so to the replacement rim price. I just replaced all 4 rims on my Silverado. Even at my good guy discount rims alone were 2800.
He couldn’t bother with a cheap set of wheel locks?
Has he checked his catalytic converter yet?
(There’s at least one advantage of a Tesla.)
Many years ago, I was working in the Detroit ghetto. I had a beat up old boombox stereo. Some knuckledragger stole it one afternoon. The next day, we came back to the jobsite. THe stereo was such a pile of garbage, the knuckledragger returned my radio (minus the batteries)
Why was his car not in a garage of his mansion?
Does he have security cameras?
With many cameras up and down the street I would think that the license plate of the crooks car would be available. Ring and Wyze doorbell cameras are everywhere. In my small apt building we now have 4 cameras with one being mine due to a package thief living here. A Wyze Cam 3.
He discovered the tires missing the next morning. If he'd discovered the missing tires, he'd still have them!
Yep, a friend has I think a Mitsubishi SUV and two months ago got into a fender bender. He has his left front quarter panel held on by duck tape because he's waiting for his shop to get the parts......LOL!
