Just when you think you've heard everything comes cola-infused pepperoni by Pepsi. My Italian grandmothers are turning over in their graves. But this is real and the Pepsi-Roni pizza launched My first thought when I saw this was that someone spilled their Pepsi on their pizza and thus a trend was born but alas, this actually came from the Culinary Institute of America.
What they did was "replace the pepperoni's usual water content with a reduction of Pepsi's zero sugar resulting in "a delightfully sweet and citrusy Pepsi kick [that] complements the salty, fatty, umami flavors of smoked pepperoni."
The Pepsi-roni pizza was rolled out for one day only in New York and now the soda company will try Los Angeles, Miami, Detroit, and Chicago. So far no plans for New Jersey. Thank God.
So I started thinking if people will put Pepsi in the pepperoni, what else would they do? Especially now that we have legalized recreational marijuana, this could lead to some really weird food combinations like these;
Valeria Jobst Morgan garlic parmesan soft pretzel dipped in chocolate
Alan Ellis Tomato soup with hot dogs, shredded cheese, mushrooms, & bacon bits.
Sharon Mortimer Abruzzese Crunchy Cheetos and cottage cheese
Chrissy B Harris My husband eats pizza with apple sauce

BK was notorious for encouraging customers to toss their milkshakes into the faces of conservative candidates for office in the UK.
Wouldn't tossing a chocolate shake in someone's face be a case of blackfacing?
Do you have a source?
Bacon and/or bananas in peanut butter sandwiches are great.
Pineapple on pizza is OK, but it has to be grilled.
NOTE: At the time people were replacing the shakes with quick drying cement which can burn the flesh. So candidates weren’t just getting messy but messed up.
Shrimp Pizza. Yep...Shrimp pizza.
The whole article is about gross, stoned college food. Big deal.
Ooh how about a dry ramen sandwich? Or cheese doodles and spam on a baked potato with horse radish?
That last one sounds pretty good.
Years ago at a Chart House restaurant...they had a “salad bar” where a Caesar salad was fresh made anytime someone requested.
Whilst awaiting the salad I noticed the whole strawberries were gigantic, perfectly shaped and perfectly colored. Thought that they were likely tasteless. WRONG. The taste was perfect. Then I noticed fresh horseradish...
Sat down at the table and our then 12 year old almost screamed NO at me when I slathered a strawberry with the horseradish...
Strawberries and horseradish...mangia!
One of my favorite dutch oven recipes involves Cornish Game Hens, vegetables and wild rice.
Pour in a large box of beef broth then place the dutch oven on the coals for an hour or so.
The last time I made it, I forgot to buy the broth so I poured in a couple cans of root beer instead.
Wow! Let’s just say the root beer rice is amazing.
We’re having that for dinner in a few days. I’m considering Mountain Dew Rice this time.
The foodie folks will never, ever stop with silliness like this - so long as enough low-IQ folks watch their tv shows, click on their Instagram, etc.
I love peanut butter and banana sanwiches- we ate them ,ike, they were gou g out of style when younger. Bacon or hotdogs and peanut butter I never tried though. Doesn’t sound like the Teo would mix well, but then again we sued to eat cheese whiz on marshmallows, and it was surprisingly good
For awhile in the 70’s there was a brand of peanut butter that came with bacon bits in it. Yum.
I read somewhere today that Mountain Dew wants to try a pickle flavored...
Bacon and/or bananas in peanut butter sandwiches are great.
