There’s nothing bad about a society where the citizens don’t trust the police. In fact, this country was built by men who had no confidence in government institutions.
Given a lemon, make lemonade. Communities can get by, at least the immediate needs, without police. The poilice can be the makers of official record for the eventual court proceedings.
It's a bad thing that our government and our press lie to us, too. But people adapt to reality once they sense it (reality).
Personally, police forever severed that shred of trust/respect during the Antifa/BLM summer of love riots where they “Stood Down” and let animals run free. Your personal protection is your responsibility.
