Great race- Swede Marcus Erickson had a comfortable lead with 6 laps left. Teammate Jimmie Johnson of NASCAR fame has a major accident in turn two (third turn 2 accident today). Red flag comes out at lap 195- five lap sprint to the finish for the Indy 500!!! (Coverage on NBC)
Exactly- and they go in a straight way for a quarter-mile with no traffic and use a parachute to slow them down. They don’t race on a concrete walled 2 5 mile track where they must due 200 laps with 4 left hand turns every lap.
You only have to fly 30 of them 2 feet from each other while banking most of the time. Oh and land and take off repeatedly. Actually they could do 300. They continually change the spec’s to prevent this.
Close- Emerson Fitapaldi drank OJ the second time he won the 500 because he owned orange groves in Brazil
You win the internets today!!!
I was referring to speed, not the traffic involved.
Btw, they got go carts that’ll do 140 mph.☺
Who won the race, please.
You bet. Regarding the speed, I'm just not impressed with 220 mph.
The Kawasaki Ninja H2R does (206–249 mph)
It’s sucks when ya find out you’re wrong about something. You’ll get over it.☺
I watched that race ... it had every kind of drama one could think of. Rain delay, power outage in press box and surrounding area, crashes (one semi-serious), and the winner scoots across the finish on tyres so bald that you can see the steel belts.
Whew ...

I am a licensed pilot with hours in a 172. You don’t know what you are talking about.

So another 100 mph is just not that impressive to me considering the multi-million dollar costs of these cars and all the designing and engineering that went into them. For 100 mph more? C'mon.
That’s a bit odd. I’ll find another for ya.
The cars run 2.2-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engines from Honda and Chevrolet and produce between 550bhp-700bhp depending on the amount of boost used and the type of circuit being raced on (generally speaking there’s a lower power figure on ovals for reasons of durability and safety).
Once again, I’m talking about their speed in this race. Not what type of engines they have. It is what it is.

Rules limit hp, weight and aerodynamics. Once again you display your ignorance.
CESSNA 172 — Top speed 185 mph.

Try this from the Beverly Flight Center. Could they be lying? Maybe.

Speed is limited by allowed horsepower. Rules dictate.
