Especially with Kevin Bacon, getting his ass slapped, by a male AOC, Niedermeyer, and asked for another paddle.
Couldn’t make that movie today.
It’d be kind of hard to have a reunion.
my frat at Stanford didnt use paddles during my time (snicker). I was appointed “overseer’ a few years ago, but I was too lazy to travel there for hell week (s).
The movie was and will always be a classic for me.
I was a pledge in Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the University of Florida when that movie came out, the Brothers took a bunch of us to see the movie.
Every Fraternity in those days could relate to Delta Tau Chi, we all had guys who could have been inspiration for characters in the movie.
The political correctness and liberalization of college campuses these days would have shut our house down and kicked us off campus for any number of things we did.
Our Fraternity was not that much different with respect to the things we did, just a different era back then.
At your service day and night,
We do the job and do it right!
A-A-A-A-C-M-E!!
Why, they must be college, chaps.
My fraternity did have a paddling ceremony, it was only one swat per person.
It started with the pledges hitting their big brother, then the pledges got beaten.
Most of the pledges in my class were going easy on their big brother hoping he would return the favor.
When it got my turn, I was thinking BS, it’s only one swat can’t hurt that much, so I hit my big brother as hard as I could, after that it was on.
Some of the others decided to go bare ass, blood was drawn that night, great fun it was...
First night, we call it (since the turn of the 20th century) called the “jukebox” in our frat. Because once the music turns on, there will be lots of “hits” (wink). This historical reputation on fraternity row scares off a lot of potential plebes lol and they’re free to go to the other wimpy ass frat down the street..
From the movie, they’re either John “Bluto” Blutarsky people or they’re Neidermeyer people, it was too much fun to be anything other than Bluto type people.
Especially where they get dates over the death of Fawn Liebowitz.
Insincerity is defined by a tearful, “She made a pot for me!”
LOL whenever I recall that line.
One of the greatest movies ever made. It never gets old.
Gator alumni here. UF had it’s own Deltas - the Kappa Alpha house. House was across the street from the main campus. Had a cannon on the front lawn. They were remodeling the library and one hungover KA fired the cannon at the construction workers.
Don’t know how many times the KAs were on probation but rumor was they never got off probation. This mid-60s, the Spurrier years.
Jack Webb was offered the role of Dean Vernon Wormer, but turned it down.
one of the best movies ever.
my campus KA’s always wore confederate uniforms to formal events.. My frat house started having toga parties in 78. We had a van for picking up girls from the fashion schools for parties.we a engineering school..
We were temporarily banned/closed twice.Once in 40’s or 50’s while there was a campus alcohol ban, kegs were brought in at night to an upstairs refrigerated closet where plumbing was installed to flow beer from kitchen faucets at parties and events...eventually it was reported. In my years a former phone co employee hacked into the campus phone system computers and made alterations so that my frat house got free long distance for a couple of years...fun times for sure
But I thought Senator Blutarsky was a Republican.
Never heard that story.
Rip John Belushi

Always liked “Shamma Lamma Ding Dong”
“OTIS, MY MAN!”
They used to be called the Grand Gentlemen of the South or something similar to that, I know once a year they had a huge party when the brothers dressed up in Confederate Uniforms, I’m sure today that’s been strictly outlawed.
They used to fight with one of the Jewish Fraternities up the street.
