"Hahon (1961) endeavoured to infect Macaca irus, obtained from the Philippines, by the aerosol route (mass median diameter less than 5 ,u), using viruses of variola major and minor, vaccinia virus, monkey- pox virus, cowpox virus, and rabbitpox virus. An elevation of temperature occurred with all the pox virus infections; after 3 days with vaccinia and rabbitpox; after 4 days with variola major and minor and monkeypox; and after 6 days with cow- pox. Coughing, coryza and anorexia were observed in the monkeys exposed to vaccinia, rabbitpox and monkeypox viruses, but not in the monkeys exposed to smallpox. Mild dermal eruption was observed only in animals exposed to smallpox (variola major) and monkeypox viruses. Papules appeared on the ninth or tenth day after exposure. They were limited to the face and hands and gradually resolved within 3-4 days. Several deaths occurred in animals 6-7 days after exposure to monkeypox virus. ...
Hahon & Wilson (1960) found that in Macaca irus exposed to variola virus by aerosol, viraemia was observed during the late stages of the incubation period and at the time of develop- ment of exanthem.
Westwood et al. (1966) also induced variola infections in Indian rhesus monkeys (Macaca mulatta) by aerosol. Their clinical observations were similar to Hahon's. They noted a 5-day incubation period; the rash was centrifugal in distribution and appeared in an average of 7-8 days, ranging from 6 to 11 days; and the severity of the variola infection was intermediate between rabbitpox and vaccinia. Two deaths were observed in 109 monkeys infected by variola virus. Monkeypox in the monkey has a similar clinical picture to that of smallpox in the monkey. However, in Hahon's study, the symptoms were much more severe than those of smallpox in the monkey.

Here we go again. MASK UP, everybody.
Five microns and one micron is about 1/25,000 inch so what kind of rag should I use for a filter?
How many layers?
How much surface is needed for ~six liters of lung volume and breathing FAST, cause I want the hell away from any disease!
Strange how almost all of the know cases are men who engage in anal sex.

Is that how the Covid-19 virus spread from bats to humans or did scientists screw around and make that jump possible? Just substitute Monkey Pox in the previous sentence for Covid-19 along with monkeys for bats.
And a great big Macaca irus to you too, buddy!
“Monkeypox known to be aerosol transmissible from 1968”
Is that part of flinging poo, or independent of it?
Just because a virus can be spread by aerosol doesn’t mean that is the primary vector. It also doesn’t mean that aerosol spread transmits with a reproduction rate high enough effectively spread in any given population. Since monkeypox outbreaks are pretty much always self limiting, it would seem that the human to human R-naught is well below 1. A small population of humans, gay men, seem to have found that gay sex in extremely promiscuous groups provides a vector with a with a higher transmission rate.
Of course, with the constantly increasing number of MPX infections every year, there is certainly opportunity to evolve/mutate. Immunocompromised people provide an ideal reservoir for the virus to mutate, and the gay population has large numbers of such people. We also have to be concerned that monkeypox could establish itself here, by finding a reservoir species. Rats, squirrels, mice, rabbits, etc are all susceptible.
