Reports today have indicated the first spotting of T-62M tanks in Ukraine. So we will soon have data on how many of the supposed 10,000 mothballed tanks are operational and how they will fare on the modern battlefield (prediction: not well). Some of these old tanks are stored outside in the harsh winter weather of Russia.

$40bn is to destroy the other 1500 tanks

Where did that $40b we gave to Zelenskyy come from, and why nothing to protect our border?

$40bn is to destroy the other 1500 tanks, including those all powerful T-62s.

All for the price of $26M to destroy each tank. Such a bargain.

Right, because everyone who is actually an American and not a Russian propaganda agent has to call themselves a “real American” all the time.

Methinks the comrade doth protest too much.

They have/had 2800 tanks and 10,000 tanks in storage and 8500 armored vehicles.

Those numbers are growing exponentially. By this time next year, the entire earth will be a parking lot for stored Russian tanks.

There was an article posted yesterday allegedly showing a trainload of T-62s being brought out of storage for delivery to the troops. They have lots of old T-72s in storage but I seem to remember that the periodic maintenance for these vehicles was very poor, if existent at all, and that a very high proportion of them were not serviceable to the extent that they would require complete refitting and/or rebuilding - major components missing. When they are bringing out T-62s from reserve storage they are hurting!

You live in RuZZia, why do you care about our southern border?

Oh wait, you don’t really care.

$40bn, $80bn, $400bn, its all a cheap adventure to destroy one of our two chief adversaries - and virtually no Americans dying.

RuZZia is being demilitarized and denazified on the cheap.

Focus Speedy, I live in America

Now I'll ask again, "Where did that $40b we gave to Zelenskyy come from"?

All Pentagon loss estimates are based on Ukrainian reported data.

“They have lots of old T-72s in storage but I seem to remember that the periodic maintenance for these vehicles was very poor, if existent at all,”

The officer in charge of the depot that had the newest T-72’s committed suicide when only one in ten could be started. I don’t think it was shame. T-72’s were shipped all over the world and the parts are worth a lot. My guess is he has been cannibalizing them and selling the parts. The Russians stole their one “working” aircraft carrier from Ukraine by simply sailing it away as the captain was Russian. Half the crew, who were apparently Ukrainian refused to go and he left them on the pier. They put it in a floating drydock in Murmansk. The power to the drydock was suddenly cut by accident and the emergency pumps failed to work. The drydock sank, partially sinking the carrier and causing major damage. The dock was a right off. Turns out the yard manager had stolen $650,000 dollars from the maintenance budget and he’d never filled the diesel tanks on the floating dock. He’s in prison now.

Another reason that Russian equipment has done so poorly is that the companies producing it are owned by Putin’s friends and no extra expense was expended when it could have been shipped overseas by the oligarchs running the place. So stuff was shipped that probably never passed tests. Also, their precision weapons were using our standard GPS, which the US has turned off. Poof! Most of their bombs and missiles stopped working.

Most of this boils down to the cost of corruption.

What are ukranian losses versus the original ukrainian army’s equipment. Cant Judge with just one side of the data. Also how much russian equipment in service and reserve. It looked like at the start only 10 to 20% of the russian army was committed in the Ukraine

The Times of London reports that the US simply abandoned a truly astounding arsenal of military equipment and weapons in Afghanistan. This reportedly includes up to 22,174 Humvee vehicles, nearly 1,000 armored vehicles, 64,363 machine guns, and 42,000 pick-up trucks and SUVs. So, too, the list of allegedly abandoned weaponry includes up to 358,530 assault rifles, 126,295 pistols, and nearly 200 artillery units. Oh, and the Taliban will likely inherit state-of-the-art military helicopters, warplanes, and other aircraft from the US, too.

There aren’t any conservatives in the military?
