If the Mitrokhin archive is to be believed, the KGB actually had very little success planting their own agents in the US...America was so different from the Soviet world—or even Western Europe—as to be akin to another planet. Some were caught, some cracked under the cognitive dissonance...many accomplished little if anything.
Initially they had great success in recruiting “ideological” spies in the US (e.g. the Rosenbergs and Oppenheimer), but after the depredations of Stalin were revealed to the world in the 1950s, that supply dried up. They eventually found replacement success by seeking people with access to desirable information, who had an inflated sense of self and an ax to grind against their employer.
This is not new information.
This degree of infiltration has been taking place since at least the mid 1950’s.
I have friends who are both retired, and near retired FBI, as well as a number from CI, who have on several occasions had to work various related cases involving precisely what is spoken of here.
Whether this piece was printed or not, this has already been a reality since at least the Korean War.

(captured American government leadership), than at any point in the history of the KGB orbits predecessors.
I have personally been involved in several deep take downs over the years, which involved BOTH 1st and 2nd gen American KGB and FSB, which involved servicemembers who penetrated through the US DOD (all branches), and had long been working with TS/SCI and all.caveat’s, who were either born here, or came over as children.
There were and are other related programs the KGB/FSB used with great success, which bore out “hybrid’s”.
Due to pride and now arguably foreign and domestic ideologically “captured” echelons of US Government (Federal and State), the US as we knew it, or better, how it was supposed to be, is already gone, and being assimilated into the new global governance architecture.
In other words, leftist black hats, and leftist generational penetration have won.
From a different angle (but related), Obama from his own book “Dreams of My Father”, attributes Frank Marshall Davis with the formation of his beliefs, and trajectory of his own life. Some of us knew FMD was indeed an agent of the KGB, well before Obama, and during those same years, was in fact a paid agent of the KGB, carrying out all kinds of efforts from Moscow.
A retired CIA friend of mine (a believe it or not, a true God loving patriot), a person I had once worked with while in uniform), *blew up one day, when hearing Clinton had brought Obama in to lead the unlawful legal fight against the banks using the CRA.
He knew right then, a specific project which he had worked decades earlier (when his entire teams findings were blown off and suppressed), had been triggered, and what they had known about Clinton and Obama had been set in motion (meaning certain people “in the know” and keeping this project from potentially happening had been removed, or were gone). So with Clinton in office (first term), we were hearing about how a foreign project involving Obama (but could have been others), was now likely to see Obama succeed as POTUS within twelve to 16 years.
Several of us were hearing this, and learning this in 1994.
Imagine what some of us felt when “0” was placed as POTUS.
